Got an update today, it was Vector not Contact, and the inverter wouldn't trip offline immediately but de-rate based on the voltage level.  Vector have now changed the transformer tap and that seems to have resolved it.

One other thing was that apparently the transformer was a 240V one (this is second-hand so may be mangled) and the Vector guy had to use the lowest tap to get the voltage within range.

Anyone else in Auckland have a lousy November for their solar production? i only produced about 45kWh more than October, averaging 41.5kWh per day, the estimates i had from the solar installer were about 47kWh per day for November so about 180kWh short.

What is the kWp rating for the system - also inverter size ?

Edited: We've had a weird day here in Otautahi today, a lot of morning cloud initially clearing this afternoon. Currently (at 16:30) getting 9kW out of our 11.88kWp system, totalling 49kWh so far today. It was still outputting a useful amount at 7:30pm last night (3 weeks from longest day)

Oct 752
Nov 756 kWh

From 5.4 kWh panel on 5kWh inverter

Now im wondering was it less sun or was it more derating due to high voltages?

You can use map mode to compare systems near to yours https://pvoutput.org/aggregate.jsp?id=121065&sid=104930&v=2&t=m

Im about 6km south of you. Your numbers are similar to mine, not much of an improvement over October. The system about 400m from mine is showing similar numbers to mine (scaled for system size)

I have 10kW of panels 3.3kW @113deg and 6.7kw @297degs on an 8.2kW inverter. I haven't seen any derating due to the grid voltage.

Pretty sure it was sun.

9.5kW of panels feeding an 8.2kW inverter here in North Taranaki. Half of those panels are bifacials angled up off a flattish roof and all panels are north facing at 39 degrees tilt but the inverter is the limiting factor at the end of the day. 1128kWh for November I guess as we're still doing 0.5kW presently despite recent grid voltage limitations. 1,101 in Oct 24 and 1,197 last November so in the same ballpark. November is a patchy month here with plenty of partly cloudy clefts in the daily bell curve and also some real dull days as the data shows. Our best month was January 24 at 1,310kWh with February at 1,276.

November this year is 5.1% better than November 2023 for us in Hamilton. No idea how large the yearly fluctuations actually are.
The peak daily generation was larger last year with a peak of 109 kwh. This year we saw just on 102kwh day but the average was higher. This years average per day is 72.2 kwh and last year was average 68.3kwh
We are very happy with what we have and what it provides.

1134kwh generated off 9.25kw in chc, not quite a full month of being export enabled either.

An interesting piece on Radio NZ this morning on rooftop solar coming off the SolarZero situation. The interviews with Lightforce Solar managing director John Harman and Chief Executive of the Sustainable Electricity Association, Brendan Winitana further down the recording are worth a listen.

The photo supplied by SolarZero makes no sense to me - what is going on with the rails fastened to the roof ?

yeah But some of the stuff the Lightforce guy was peddling was just plain wrong,

"Rooftop solar is the cheapest form of energy generation in the world" @12 mins

I will guarantee that a 400MW solar farm is far cheaper on a $/Kw than a comparable amount of roof installs

They say their "Silver" bundle is $13K for 6KW of panels/inverter install etc,  that's  $2.16/KW
https://lightforce.co.nz/solarbundles/

Lightsource solar are building 168KW at CHC airport for $276 million, that's $1.6/KW - that's 30% cheaper

Without going back to check his wording he is correct that PV is the cheapest generation method available today. Sure economies of scale between domestic and utility will alter per kW costs of installation but when the absence of transmission costs are factored in rooftop may well rule the roost.

I'm not questioning the Solar bit, its the  individual rooftop vs at scale commercial solar that I believe he is incorrect on,

Also the only way you get to factor out transmission cost is if you consume your own production, and for most households peak solar generation is not equal to demand so the numbers don't stack,

If you say that net metering will make this true, then yes, but someone still has to pay for the grid when the sun isn't shining...there are no free lunches if everybody wants one...
