Check the web for the serious inhumane harm and suffering this causes to animals or see links posted earlier in the discussion. It is not funny or fun. If you think it is harmless or has no potential for suffering you are dead wrong.

I had a problem with a cat leaving a parcel on our doorstep once or twice a week.

I used simple cracked black pepper. Cats hate it. It gets onto their paws and makes them sneeze like crazy.

It shouldn't come back to areas that are dosed regularly and will form a habit to stay away.

Also - I tried the Cayenne pepper in a sausage trick. It ate the whole bloody sausage yet still came back.
Poor cat though must have suffered as there was lots of cayenne in it!

Yeah that cat was most likely the Mexican Red Tabby, those things love Cayenne.

Unless it was the lesser known Kiwi Red-Arsed Moggy. Can usually be identified as they are trying to sit on icecubes.

Anyone know if there is an easy way to couple a garden sprinkler with a motion sensor of some kind?

If so that would work 100% Cool

EDIT: Beaten to it lol. That'll teach me for not reading the whole thread... Embarassed
