Are there such things as nice looking LED E27 Bulbs in a warm colour (Bedroom) that have a slow warm up like the horrible energy lights do now?

We had a bulb go in our bedroom and I want LED, but my wife doesn't like the instant on of LED!

Forstner bits. Never knew such a thing existed, but now I have DIY that I can use these with.

I wouldn't buy led lamps or other mains powered gear from these places

I've bought plenty of LED bulbs from these sort of places (usually eBay, but they are the same - coming from China freight free).

Decided to take on a project to update/replace my old home made bench power supply. All those very cheap electronic modules are very tempting!

For very little money ($NZ26 delivered) I have what seems to be a very capable unit. Just have to get it housed properly yet.

I bought from an ebay seller a pwr supply module and a little V/A display unit. And it seems everything works first up!!

Pwr module here http://www.ebay.com/itm/291337094364

Display here http://www.ebay.com/itm/111506792063

Trial lashup

The load is 10ohms and voltage 4.9V so current of 499mA isn't far out at all.

Recommend this seller as parcel only took a week to arrive.

Also got these great holesaws - work a treat and $40 cheaper than bunnings:

Holesaw on AliExpress

Holesaw on AliExpress

That second set look like the saws just screw onto the arbor rather than having a washer to hold them in place, can you still unscrew them after using them for drilling? It looks like the drilling action would tighten them more and more onto the arbor.

They have gaps in the sides that you can insert a screwdriver into and apply force to untwist them. I haven't had any problems with unscrewing them.

Mmmm, having a hard time trying to work out how to mount my power supply display. Looking at the photo below, there are four sticky out bits (two shown) that are supposed to go in as you push the display into the cutout. BUT, if you look hard you can see the white between the locking bits and that won't allow the locking bits to move in even slightly.

Looks like a job for the dremmel! Or maybe file.

Sounds like a good idea, Richard, but it's really jammed in so don't want to wreck it.

Yea, had a go but there is just too much chance of damaging the delicate circuitry in there.

I only need to clear one side so think I will file down one side and get just a little purchase on the filed side to get enough grip. It is very light of course, and there is always UHU!

So I bought 3 cheap cases. I only really want the bases and once I've made a nice bigger enclosure for my volumio machine so it hides the USB dac then it will look better than the mess it is currently.

This either bits, the 5.5/2.1 splitter and 5.5/2.1 to micro USB and power module, I'm intending to hook together to convert a raspberry Pi to Poe. The split is because I already have a router on the line, so I'll split the 12v the step Fien one half to 5.5v before converting to micro USB.
