As requested here is the list we're working off in terms of limiting technologies to 128k for our no data pack pack. How much you ask? $35 per month.

Please note, this list will change at Flip's sole discretion.

While we'll try to keep this up to date, bottom line is that this pack is designed for streaming, browsing, gaming and internet calling - say within that and you'll be always at full speed.

To be absolutely clear, it's not for large downloading/leeching.

Good to have some transparency, but a couple of questions:
  • Zoho? Those are business tools, why would that be limited?
  • Hamachi? I know of some businesses using that as VPN (I use Hamachi to network all Geekzone servers for example, a lot simpler than creating an OpenVPN server to connect the nodes).

Thanks for the feedback.

Zoho shouldnt be there, we're removing now.

Hamachi can be used to tunnel/hide p2p. Would need a lot of demand to remove that from the list unfortunately.

I don't think Microsoft Skydrive should be on that list either- - 'why has my hotmail stopped working ?'

I was just wondering, dont see anything in that list related to Usenet, is there a technical reason for that? or just not a concern ?

since your aiming this at gaming, hamachi is used quiet often for lan games over the internet.. alot more than any sort of tunneling..

with blocking a lot of P2P and filelockers, some gamming could be rather iffy.. more so a problem when you get into any form of third party mods however...

lack of FTP limitations there make it perfect for ftping data from seedboxes ;)

Spoke further on this to our head of technology and we're going to let Hamachi operate at full speed.

Obviously with all this we'll be watching closely for abuse etc.

I also think it's strange Skydrive, Cubby, Zumodrive are in the list while Google Drive and Dropbox are not.

If nothing I think Microsoft has a pretty good grip on Skydrive content and it's not widely used for illegal content distribution as other services.

Yup, we've removed Skydrive. And yes Cuddy looks ok so has been removed.

Zumodrive appears to be no longer with us.

Oh yes, Zumodrive is gone, good point.

I have crossed out these services from your list in the post.

Even though I am not a Flip user, thanks for listening to the comments and acting on that.

Cool.

No problem re listening and acting. The feedback here is really useful, a lot of the product definition of the no cap pack is the direct result of geekzone.
