TVNZ OnDemand recently stopped working.

Seems the AdobeFlash player (or TVNZ's embedded BrightCove content controller) now requires the old HAL libraries to operate it's DRM.

From askubutu       http://askubuntu.com/questions/362259/how-to-watch-videos-in-amazon-prime-instant-video

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mjblenner/ppa-hal

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install hal

The following extra packages will be installed:

hal-info libhal-storage1 libhal1

The following NEW packages will be installed:

hal hal-info libhal-storage1 libhal1

This now makes it work in Firefox on 14.04.

I'm now having issues and I've just upgraded to Fedora 21.

Not getting any errors, but the video is simply failing to start.

Yep, that's what we were seeing.  Page loaded, player controls show, but video fails to start or show any content. Just a black box. Can't skip forward. No error messages.

A different thread suggests this is just how the DRM content owners want it. Silent fail. Nothing as nasty as a pop up like "Greed Inc don't support your platform because of it's open freedom".

Looks like I've found the fix for Fedora 21
