Hi all.
Hoping this is a simple one for you!
I'm on Vodafone fibre  with the Huawei home Hub HG 659. I use Unblock US to gain access to Netflix etc.
Had to do a factory reset to the HomeHub this morning, and everything working fine with DHCP selected for IPv4 adressing type.
I then switch to 'static' and change the primary and secondary DNS addresses to the Un-block US ones.
I leave the IPv4 address, Network Mask and default gateway as they are.

I ignore the IPv6 settings altogether.

All good so far- unblock US is happy, internet still going fine.

then after about 5 mins I lose access to the internet.

If I set the IPv4 address type back to DHCP, all is good again.

any solutions??

thanks!

Also checking I get the other thing right- Blocking Google DNS lookup.
I enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4 in parental control URL filter? or should this be static routing rules??

cheers

Theo

Hi your last 8.8.8.4 should be 8.8.4.4

Hi I put the DNS I want to block in parental controls. Everything else I am pretty sure I do the same. Do you save and then reboot then go back to unblockus and reset the IP address ?
