Hello Geekzone community!

As most of you know, Netflix will launch in New Zealand on March 24. This is good news for Kiwis because thousands used to access Netflix long before its launch.

We want to take this opportunity and present you some data from our internal software about how many titles are available on each region of Netflix. While most regions of Netflix including the Kiwi Netflix have an estimated of 1600 -2000 titles, the entire Netflix catalogue (all regions) totals over 15,200 titles!

Having said that, with UnoTelly, Netflix users can unlock all Netflix regions around the world and have access to more content with a single Netflix subscription.

To celebrate the launch of more Netflix options, we have launched an exclusive giveaway for Australians and New Zealanders! 1 Australian and 1 New Zealander will win one year of UnoTelly Gold and Netflix subscriptions. Check freitasm’s post for more information: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=151&topicid=168528

Cheers,
UnoTelly team

Netflix nz will have 1500-2000 titles? How weak. I think many kiwis will be very disappointed when they launch if that's the size of the catalogue
Good to know some of us have these kinds of services to allow us acces to USA netflix.

Is it just me or the bar on the far right is doing a bit of double dipping. Since a lot of the titles are available across all regions.

Not saying that UnoTelly don't provide anexcellent service. Just a bit of dodgy graph usage IMHO.

I only just started using the Dynamo feature and I wonder why it took me so long. Using the app iStreamGuide I can search for a movie title and it will tell me what region it is available in. I watched Cloverfield last night and it was available in most of the European and South American countries. I chose France using Dynamo and watched it. However there was quite a bit of buffering going on which I never experience when watching content via the USA content. I'm sure most of you have been using Dynamo for a while now is there any way around this buffering? I also tried Switzerland and Argentina which where slightly worse.

If you tallied all of the individual countries up then their sum would be several times the size of the existing total catalogue bar - so it sin't dodgy and I don't think there is any double dipping going on there at all. If the sum of all the individual countries equaled the catalogue then yep, but that is far from the case.

So you believe that Orange is the New Black and House of cards are only represented in a single one of the bars on the graph? Which jurisdiction to you think they are counted in?

Quite irrelevant really. The graph tells a very simple fact - with Unotelly, you have access to a much larger range of titles worldwide! Certainly nothing to call them out over.

Great service and a great choice.

I work with facts and figures all day - It makes my job much harder if people create data interpretations that don't match reality.

Under your logic, if a number is quite large, it's perfectly reasonable to choose any large number instead of the correct one, to support an argument.

"Last year there were 3000 road deaths attributable to drink driving"*

*Actually there were 300, but 300 is a big number, so we chose to use 3000 as it's a big number as well.

Cheers - N

Try hitting pause and giving the buffer a chance to get ahead. After 30 seconds or so if you hit play it should be all good. Seemed to work okay for me so far anyway.

Not at all. I think there a a few programmes that are represented in a number of bars on that graph (that must be the case, else the Unotelly column would be several times taller than it is already!!

But I do think there are a number of regional or regionalised programmes that only appear in one or two of the regional bars - German language programming for example, and French, etc etc.

Fair point... It might be the localised programming that's distorting it / making it sound bad.

So, if I subscribed to Netflix NZ, got Unotelly, I can easily switch to any country's Netflix I wish to, by a mere change of a Netflix and/or Unotelly setting?

I'd assume so - that's how Netflix + Unblockus\unotelly\etc combinations work in all other regions. I can't see them changing that for just for NZ.

Dynamo should work with anything. Basically, once you've changed the region in Dynamo any device on your account will direct to the selected Netflix region as it's all done at the UnoTelly end.

The only downside I guess is that if other members of the household are watching Netflix on other devices, they'll be directed to the same region selected in Dynamo.
