Since I've moved to Vodafone for ADSL. I've noticed that my IP changes every time my router reconnects. Apparently this is normal for unlimited plans.
But its a bit annoying for Unotelly.
There seem to be some fairly complicated methods for automatically updating the IP address but I was wondering if I already have the makings of a solution.

I have a WHS2011 server which uses a Microsoft supplied homeserver.com domain name. This keeps working even though my IP changes.

Can I simply put my homeserver domain name in the DynDNS setting in Unotelly? Would that achieve the same thing as actually having a DynDNS account?

What do you call complicated? You could set this up on a PC pretty easy: http://help.unotelly.com/support/solutions/articles/22678-task-scheduler There is an OSX fix somewhere on there too.

Yes it would achieve the same thing, assuming your server updates it often enough.

Comparatively complicated, yes. Enter 1 URL that I already have, versus an 8-step procedure on a headless server. Nothing I couldn't work around mind, but I like easy.
