Which DNS service are you using? Typically they all play whac-a-mole and keep changing proxy egress IPs to get around this. I'd be surprised if that isn't resolved shortly.

Seems strange that they would do this, surely they would the most customers as possible?

I am sure they do but someone in the US might be cracking down on them

Sure, which is why they only make token gestures to block out of region users to appease the content providers who are acting as proxies for companies like SKY etc who still pay silly money to have exclusive rights to content.

not if gaining those customers mean they can't buy future content rights because the studios refuse to do business with them due to massive breach of contract.

In hulu's case, they are owned by the studios, so they have even more incentive to follow the terms of their agreements.

Hulu is basically the oldschool broadcasters in the US, its not a nice internet friendly organization like netflix.

Thats why hulu does dumb stuff like not having whole seasons available, keeping up with "broadcast schedules" etc. Its basically a TVNZ on demand without all the suckyness of TVNZ on demand, but still suckyness.

Those ads aren't all bad. They're helping to inform us on some of the dining choices for our US visit next month :-)

I assume dns4me was experiencing issues, I've just checked my notifications and they reported Hulu had blocked their US servers.

Apparently all sorted now, they re-routed to a USA IP and people just need to restart their devices.
