I have been using the Unblock US service to watch Netflix in other regions for some time now and it has been working well throughout the house by inputting the supplied DNS server addresses under the basic LAN setup of my Spark branded Huewei HG630b router.

When trying to Chromecast content from other regions, no luck. The Chromecast comes up with different errors essentially saying that playback is not possible.

After a bit of research I am told that this is because Chromecast ignores router DNS settings and is hard-coded to google's public DNS servers. I do not believe that my router has much ability for OpenWRT to redirect the DNS so I am limited to blocking Google's public DNS addresses using the static routing options.

This has caused Netflix to stop working all together on all devices. I can load the home screen (TAKES AGES) and select a video but it cannot play giving me the error message "Sorry, we could not reach the Netflix server....(12001)"

Am I doing something wrong here, or is there another way to do this with my router?

You have to block more than just Google DNS. Check post here.
