Not sure if this was best here in the 2Degrees forum, thought I'd try here first.

I am trialing Amazon Prime Instant Video, but am getting awful picture quality for the majority of the time.

Problem is occurring on all of my devices, PS3 (wired), PS4 (wired), iPad, and PC (wired). I've had it go HD a couple of times, but at least 90% of the time it is rubbish quality.

I am on a 2Degrees 100/20 fibre plan and use Unblock-US for geo-unblocking. I've also tried UnoTelly, and it makes no difference.

Hulu and Netflix are both having no problem with HD (Netflix takes a minute or so to ramp right up to full HD, but is fine after that).

Is anyone else who uses Amazon Instant Video (especially if you are with 2Degrees) experiencing this?

I trialled it last year on asdl with a vpn and the quality was good.  Actually, I've found the vpn gave better quality than the smart dns services, which is counter to what I've heard it should be.  Not sure why.

I just tried it in my iPad (in same room as wifi router) using the Unblock-US VPN instead of the smart DNS, and still just as bad.

Using UnoTelly and Amazon Fire TV... Even with the crappy cable service at the moment it still plays fine.

So I assume you're Vodafone then with cable?

The plot has thickened a bit. Was using Edge browser when testing on PC, but when I tried Chrome it was looking pretty good. PS3 and PS4 still rubbish though.

Going to try on a Spark fibre connection today connection today.

Well, on Spark connection it looks good on iPad and PC, but still terrible on PS3 - don't understand why the client device should make much difference.

Looks like the new Fire TV or new Apple TV might be in my future, but would still be very keen to hear from anyone running Amazon Instant Video via PS3?
