Hi there

I have got kodi on my windows machine and I am using getflix dns to be able to view bbc. This works well(excelpt for the odd buffering) in kodi and the iplayer.

I am trying to do the same on my android device. I select a static IP and enter in getflix dns addresses, the same as with my windows machine, but I cannot get bbc to work.

I have tried turning off ipv6 address on my router, but I am not sure I am doing this right. I'm with 2degrees and have a fritzbox.

So does anyone here have getflix working on an android device and are able to watch bbc on their device?

And if so can you help me with my setup?

Tks

I use dns4me and I have given up trying to stream from bbc, I down load it to iplayer instead which means at least its it in hd . I don't have problems with any other streaming service just bbc

Bigpipe UFB/dns4me - BBC iplayer streams fine - though DNS4ME did have problems with a Denial of Service (DDOS) attack on some of their servers around the middle of last week - that caused issues for around 24 hours with any UK streaming services.

I use BBC iplayer on a windows PC and Amazon fire TV.

I am not sure how you have set this up hattrick123 , but its usually easiest to set up your router so that it uses the unblockers DNS servers instead of your ISPs DNS servers. This way all your devices inside your home network will be unblocked and you wont need to fiddle with settings on each device.

From memory bbc iplayer doesnt work well on some versions of android http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/tv/android_freezing

I seem to recall you also need to put some blocks in place to stop google/android working out where you are (android devices) - this invloves blocking the google DNS server IP addresses at a router level - a quick google showed this https://support.unlocator.com/customer/portal/articles/1825859-how-to-block-google-dns-on-fritz-box maybe it might help you.

thank you

@dazhann
I have bbc working on my windows machine and was hoping to achieve the same thing on my android device.

@robjg63
I currently have it set up on the individual device, my windows pc. I was hoping to do the same for my android device. But so far no luck. changing the dns on the router is an option i am aware of but I just wanted to do it at a device level first.
I will have a look at your links but it seem I might have to change it at a router level. oh well. interesting.

No the test fails on their website. but i have the dns settings changed on the android device, not the router. I will change them on the router and see how I go.

Out of curiosity I would be interested to know if anyone can get it working byt changing the dns settings on their android device?
