Long time coming, but finally MediaWorks support Chromecast via their ThreeNow Android app. Not sure about ios?

Just noticed the update last night.

TVNZ yet to release support but should be coming soon too.

Great news, I will try it out tonight.

I have a chromecast, but we all use iphones, so hoping it works.

TVNZ have said coming soon for as long as the chromecast has been available..

Considering they broke TVNZ Demand content on FreeviewPlus on LG TV's and haven't fixed it, id be surprised if they can release anything soon

I'm actually surprised that 3Now beat TVNZ on this one.

About time the government got rid of TVNZ while it is still worth something. Amazing that in this day and age they still don't have chromecast support for it. Not surprised mediaworks took so long, but at least they beat TVNZ to it.

TVNZs live stream on their windows app keeps breaking down for me. They also weirdly put ads on it, which play over the top of the live ads.

You can't stream the live feed via Chromecast, only on demand content.

Frustrating for me as we don't have tv connected to a dish or aerial.

To be honest, since I put the Freeviewe/TV3 apps on Kodi this hasn't been a problem. They work extremely well! Chromecast is just the slight bit easier but I have the Boss trained on Kodi now so all good.

Yea but you need to be a genius to be able to set up Kodi to work like that. Seems complicated.

What kodi box do you have?

Honestly you really don't. There are so so so so so soooooooooooooo many tutorials and recipes out there for Kodi it makes it very easy. Follow he-who-must-not-be-named blog (see other thread about Freeview/Kodi) to load up his add-ons and all done.

You can literally go from nothing to fully functioning in 10 minutes. Download an image, burn to SD, boot.

I run the LibreELEC distro on Raspberry Pi - LibreElec has had my favourite theme so far pre-installed over the standard Confluence theme, i think its called Chorus or something. The only "tricky" thing I have done is move the database off the individual Pi's and to a central server so I get continuity across devices- even that is step-by-step due to someone else already documenting it.
