We have watched all the currently available series of things we like.

Netflix seem to take forever to get new stuff. What is the answer? Death by a thousand subscriptions with every other option as well?

I generally give up and read a book or do some other activity like jigsaw puzzles, processing photos, Lego. I hate searching through Netflix to find something.

Normal ain't coming back, the crazy stays.

I generally do that too. However, SWMBO does like to flick on the TV of en evening and we have only streaming - no Freeview or anything.

If you use DNS etc to get UK options, you can have BBC, ITV and Channel 4. You're unlikely to run out with those options

I was in the same boat, subscribed to Amazon prime (got 6 months half price deal) a month ago. There are quite a few different shows. I'm even considering to cancel netflix while we focus on Amazon prime.

Death of netflix - AKA cancellation ;-)

I avoid Big Tech amap. They try hard to dictate technology and „culture“ across borders.
In effect we have everything to hide from someone, and no idea who „someone“ is.

Have you tried the local streaming apps like TVNZ? They've had series which you can watch on demand.

We pay for one video streaming service and one music service (except that my current music service, youTube music, also has video). If we're tired of one we just stop the subscription and move to a new one. We often get a free service for a month or more because there are new services appearing each year.

The problem with that is "This show is not available in your area"!

Since I stream using an Android TV rather than a computer, I have yet to work out a reliable method of convincing Amazon to let me watch what I want rather than what they want...

TVNZ and / or TV3 have a fair bit of on demand stuff. If you have VPN / DNS, theres always the Australian channels, 9now, 7plus, SBS and 10 on demand, SBS seems to have a lot of alternative stuff, main downside is all the aussie ads, arghh. UK with BBC, channel 4 etc if you can get them. So many options and thats before exploring other paid sites like HBOnow, Hulu etc
