Appletv 4, TVNZ app live channels, how do i change channels?

Pretty much exactly as it states, I have no-idea how to change the "live channel"

I have been meaning to query for a while but keep forgetting, so considerer your collective selves queried

There's something weird about it.
Start watching live tv. Click the back ( < ) button once. Then swipe up on the main control should bring up the channel selector.

It's a really bizzare piece of UI - swipe and click randomly until you get the channel you want!
