Just installed on my 2016 Sony Android tv using the Play store so no need to side load. Seems to work fine when viewing a couple of the Freemiem videos.

As per my previous post, this is now officially available on 2017+ Panasonic Smart TVs, 2017+ Sony Android TVs, Freeview A2 Recorders and Freeview Smart VU Streaming Devices.
The discussion about sideloading the app (as per last two pages) came up because of people wanting to use it on other devices not in this list.

For those with Sony Android TV that haven't been able to download it any idea if you have the latest firmware installed or wouldn't it make a difference? Sony NZ released a firmware update on their website for Android TV Oreo

@switchuk what method did you use to sideload to Amazon Fire TV? Wouldn't the native Android App be better to sideload?
What is the currently recommended app to use with Shield TV?
The TV app is better for use without a touchscreen, and often the android apps will have a google services check which means they won't open if they can't detect google play app.
To sideload I use ADB over wifi to push the app to the fire tv.
richms:I’ve had it play with Apple TV and on iPad and and phone no problemWhats the deal with multiroom watching and spark sport? Friend who has people over for rugby has 2 watching location, 2 sky boxes for that, and will soon have 2 apple tvs for spark sport, but is it possible to stream it in 2 places in the house?

Just watching the Manchester United vs. Inter in the ICC on my Android TV using the app. The picture appears to be ok but man the framerate is hideous! Put on a Sky TV sport stream (through Kodi) to see if it was my eyes and that was smooth. If this is the quality that Spark are going to bring to the RWC and EPL then I feel they're in for some serious flack. I'm really hoping that the earlier reports of running higher framerates is true; I understand that the reduced framerate was to save bandwidth as customers where not getting good quality in general due to the file sizes but they really need to encode at a few rates and allow people to choose!
