I got the app for my Sony TV. Pretty underwhemed. No easy way to tell resolution or FPS, barely any functionality at all infact, and quality of the games I saw were pretty average. I am confident the network connection to that TV is plenty to have had better than that.

Hard to tell if it's the broadcast or the app itself.

Whats the deal with multiroom watching and spark sport? Friend who has people over for rugby has 2 watching location, 2 sky boxes for that, and will soon have 2 apple tvs for spark sport, but is it possible to stream it in 2 places in the house?

you need 2 subscriptions. One device at a time per subscription

Seriously?! 2 Subscriptions?

Wait, really? One device per subscription only?

I will check...

1 Simultaneous stream at a time per account is the way I read it.

The instructions to Bars/Hotels is get 1 signup and  invest in multi room broadcast gear.

That would presumably still only allow 1 sport to be viewed for the whole org, at a time.

So, unlikely Sky, where they can show NRL and Union at the same time on different screens.

Guess I will have to explain the need to spend more money on HDMI distribution to replace the fully working sky multiroom that they have in place for sport on both the lounge and games room TVs. And its a house that will be a prick to get cables thru so will probably have to repurpose some coax and add HDMI splitters etc that will not get the 4k from the apple TV for other things so even more hassle.

Netflix is quite happy to sell multiple streams for a reasonable small extra amount each month.

My experience so far has been one device streaming at one time, not one stream registered to single device.

I tried some of the other EPL footy and it was as bad as the Man Utd vs Inter game too.

Correct, just got confirmation from Spark that it's only one stream at a time but you can use in as many devices you have - just not simultaneously.

From my memory when I was using it, Fanzone also had this limitation of one stream at a time. Kayo offers 2 simultaneous streams on the basic package with 3 available for the premium subscription.

I hope you are joking.

If they are serious about this venture, they should worry less about piracy and more around user experience and making the platform as attractive as they can.

At this point they are charging for a beta, putting limitations on, when in fact, most platforms start by underpromising and under-delivering and doing whatever they can to make the platform attractive to potential customers.

Ok, so if they provide a good UX, then its ok to have one stream per pay?

Unsure why you think I was joking, the issue with Sky is everybody borrows logins. So if they go full app as we all hope, its poor if its easy to bypass that. Same problem.

TBH if it was easy to manage logins so that they know its YOU, and your son, then Im sure multi stream with a minimal if not zero extra $ would work, but how can they manage that so that its not YOU, your mate, and your brother in law watching one paid stream?
