So, does anyone know how to get the Samsung TV app working? I believe it is part of SportsFlow which is dumb in its own right! but I've got that on my TV and there is no link to anything related to PLP... I could have forgiven them for the crap they've done once the TV app came out but, as per their whole operation, the TV is poor.

Now with Norwich heading down next season, is there any legal way u can watch their games next year ?

You might want to try Al Jazeera sport as I think they have the championship, you'll need a DNS spoofer such as OpenDNS though... If they do have it you'll also get a significant amount of other sports too for quite a cheap price.

I'm tempted to drop an email to the league people asking for a "legal" way of watching their content.

Don't expect a reply or anything other than no one holds rights or contact some nameless company which goes no where. But it will make the point that no supplying the customer what they want has driven then to break the rules.

most championship games are not shown live. there are a couple every week. Sommet Sport has the rights to the championship. they usually show at least one game live every weekend with the other tv coverage matches delayed. I think sky has the football league highlights show which has highlights from all the lower divisions.

In short though, most norwich games won't be shown on live tv anywhere in the world.

Live isn't really important as I am unlikely to accidentally come across the score as long as Steven Frye doesn't announce it on his Twitter feed...

Do I might drop summet sports an email to ask about their planned coverage..

Came here wondering the same thing. Saw the announcement that it was on SportsFlow (which I had to change my TV region back to NZ to get...), but can't see Premier League Pass on there anywhere. Looks like an absolutely awful app to have to use - I just hope the PLP one is a bit better.

I couldn't find it at first and thought it was the Sportsflow app. But its actually a called PLP and in the Sports App section. I suppose if its not there its not compatible on your Samsung TV. Quality was actually OK... I've been underwhelmed with the quality on my laptop all season. Have got quite used to watching games in bed on my Galaxy S3 or Galaxy Tab.

Not quite sure how/when my house was taken over by Samsung...

Overplay SmartDNS is good. Just under $5 USD per month.

Do you have any way of checking the resolution, framerate and bitrate? The online streams, I believe, are 720p30 at 4.5Mbps.

What is your TV? My 2012 Samsung PS51E550 doesn't have it listed in the app store at all. PLP have really p!ssed me off this year, I have to pay more to watch the same content I had before in a worse format and to top it off the app which 'might' have made it bearable appears to not be on my list! Grrr

I have a UA40F5500 (current but older model) which also lets me load it from Samsung apps and it runs fine. Bitrate is 4500 kbps (based on segment file names being retrieved) but I can't confirm resolution or FPS. Quality is significantly better than early in the season, and was comparable to one of the same game clips on TV One sports just now via Freeview (not sure where they were from - no PLP bug), although a bit of a far reach for me to call it good broadcast HD.

As an aside, when I purchased the TV recently at Harvey Norman they couldn't show me any NZ apps from the Samsung store. There was SBS and Big Pond loaded but when we searched for TVNZ OnDemand - nothing. Seems their store IP address geo-locates to Australia ! I doubt this is the issue for others here but it seems a minefield with different models and what apps will run. I suggest asking PLP and/or Samsung whether a specific model is supported.

A press release on the Samsung website (here) date 5 March states "CSM has built a dedicated application for Samsung devices in association with the Samsung SportsFlow app. Tiger Premier League Pass Presented by Samsung SportsFlow will deliver HD access to all live games and highlights, with content available to all 2012 through to 2016 Samsung Smart TV customers."

However, their newsletter (The Round 38 Preview!) dated 9 May stated "Just in time for the end of the season, our Samsung TV app is available now in the Samsung TV app store for all of you with 2013 Samsung TV models onwards. It's working really well so grab it if you have the right TV - it'll be around for next season as well and should be good to go for 2012 models by then as well too."

You would think that Samsung would understand the difference between their 2012 and 2013 models - I can understand those with 2012 models not working being upset

That seems quite clear to me. It means that the app introduced at the end of the 2013-2014 season is only compatible with 2013 and 2014 Samsung TVs, but that it will be updated for the 2014-2015 season to make it compatible with 2012 TVs as well.
