No offense mate but Imo it was blatantly obvious Samsung was the only option. Most pages in this thread are talking about it.

Ive veen critical of them previously but I watched the United Swansea game about 15 minutes delayed and the quality was mint. I do miss Sky's coverage but PLP is my only real option now and based on my free trial last night I'm really tempted to subscribe. It does suck on the laptop but it's better than nothing and not dodgy and filled with ads like the illegal streams.

Yeah, except I only just joined. It's blatantly obvious if you've been part of this discussion for a year. But I haven't. And I did ask them, and they didn't mention exclusivity given to Samsung. I maintain I was misled by what the told me on Twitter, and it'll be up to the referee to decide if they did enough to notify the consumer of the exclusive nature of not just the Samsung app, but all apps. :)

Gamepass has apps on XBMC and Plex. It's not that people won't develop them for PLP, because God knows there's enough people in other countries signing up to it too. It's just that PLP won't let anyone.

How did you get and use a discount pass code, to get $50 off the price of PLP?
Maybe PLP should make a claim against you for using a code for returning members only.

PLP have been advertising the code on social media.

I thought it was supposed to be for returning members, if not, then I apologise

It was originally then they changed to an earlybird discount for everyone. Must have been a few pissed off people who subscribed for the full price before that.

Tried to view the Swansea v Burnley game earlier this morning on the Samsung TV app, and had the message "the game has ended".  I could see no way to go to the start of the game.  Accessed from laptop with no problems.  Tried a couple of other games, and they were the same.

This happened last week as well with a number of games.

Reply from PLP support...

"Sorry for the inconvenience.Yes There was a delay for the recaps of recent games on Samsung Smart Tv application.I asked our team in united States and they said the games will always be delayed for the tv app as they need to be encoded. However All the recaps were available on samsung Tv app around 9.25 am."

I am actually glad that I haven't purchased the sub then in that case, I only have a small time window on a Sunday morning to watch a game, after that its gone till the end of the day or not at all.  That, for me, almost puts it at the same time as the Sky delayed coverage.

So much for watching whenever you want then. So for a Monday morning game you can't get up at say 6.30 and watch it before work, you have to get up to see it live.

I had a unique opportunity on the weekend with the Everton - Arsenal game. I was able to watch it either on TVOne, on my HTPC through a browser (how I've always watched it) and also through the PLP app on my Samsung F6400. So for what it's worth this is what I found.

Firstly how I've always done it. By mistake I fired up Chrome and it was so bad I couldn't believe it. It was like watching only half the frames. I then remembered using IE last year and it was pretty much the same as last year which was poor definition and consistently jerky. FUll of optimism I tried the tv app but it was little better. Whilst the web browser is consistently jerky and after a while you get used to it, the samsung app was less consistent in it's jerks but they were more 'violent' if that makes sense. You would get a couple of seconds of ok viewing and then a massive jerk. Unwatchable.

Surely the feed woudl come through for me. It's via DVB-S and recorded using mediaportal on my HTPC. It wasn't all that much better to be honest but we struggled through it. Last week both myself and my son felt nausious for hours after the game but not this week so that's a bonus.

My speed isnt great at 7MB but using the same tv I can stream netflix and iplayer with no problems at all and my HTPC handles everything you can think of.

It's a real shame PLP is so bad, but they have my money because I have no other choice.

That's just Samsung TV right? iPad to TV via Apple TV is working a treat for me.

No, that is incorrect. I got up this morning and watched the Spurs v QPR game at 5:15am before I went to work. This is the way I consumed the PLP services on a weekly basis last season, and how I expect to do it this season.

And for the record, PLP on my 55" 2012 Samsung TV, using the iPad via Apple TV, gives an acceptable viewing experience

Fair enough, must be only the TV app with the delay.

Yeah I believe it is given the PLP support resonse posted above... so at the moment we have dodgy browser playback depending on what you have installed, dodgy TV playback and real limitations over when you can access the on demand side of it.  I presume the Samsung android app is ok?  No issues there?  And finally Apple TV / iPAD appears to be perfect... Anything else I've missed?
