JarrodM: Optus has released their website and mobile apps for the premier league. My brother is with Optus, so I tried accessing it from New Zealand with his account with dns4me but that isn't working.

Thats the beauty of ISP based services i guess, they know what IP ranges they hand out to customer and if you ain't got one of them.. :-/

Still haven't heard anything further. Hopefully they start offering/advertising the channels shortly. Will be fantastic if they are in HD with the option to watch any game.

I thought we would know a bit more by now. Especially as a seperate 'channel upgrade' will be required for this.

Hopefully Sky will start promoting the extra package soon. I doubt we'll get an 'early bird' offer as we did with PLP, though.

Would be good if bein sports brought out an app for the playstation/xbox. had a xbox and now have a playstation so found it strange that coliseum didn't bring one out for premier league pass.

Most likely the cost to develop for the number of users was not worth it to them.

Can't see Bein doing it either as again their is no economic benefit for them

They are likely going to lose big on what they do in NZ I think

What is Sky up to? There is nothing on their site about the upcoming season. I can't find any recent info on how to subscribe either to tv or streaming services, it's all very quiet. Should we be worried??

This is from Stuff:

"

It had been suggested Sky may not have access to the matches this season, as announced in June, but Way said this was untrue.

"As previously stated, we have the Premier League and a lot of other premium football content from BeIn Sports.

"Just to be clear, Sky doesn't own those rights but we have done a deal with BeIn to make them available on the Sky platform."

Sky will have two football channels, with one showing EPL games, highlights and related shows in high-definition."

Does BeIN have its website presence running yet?  Last I checked it said that it doesnt have a presence in this country yet.  Perhaps the question should be asked of them?  Seems like the question is "What is BeIn Sports up to?  Should we be worried??"

Bein is still 'unavailable in your region'.

The season starts in 3 weeks, I'd expect Sky to be advertising their packages by now, or very soon. I'm open to either option, Sky or Bein.

If BeIN doesnt even have its own content setup (or even advertised) how would one expect the downstream broadcaster to be ready or advertising?

Has anyone even bothered to contact BeIn and ask when it will be offering something?

Sky Sport NZ on Facebook states that upgrades to the new football channels will be available from next week (at $11.96 per month).

The Facebook page has predictable grumbles, perhaps from people who don't know exactly how expensive the international TV rights are these days!

No word on details of online streaming for Sky subscribers.

Also, nothing yet on BeINs standalone service.

Also, no mention in the latest Skywatch despite the season starting on 13 August ..... I know Sky prepare the editorial sometime before going to print, but even so ....
