nathan: does unblock route you to local Youtube CDNs now, have they fixed that?

One of the reasons I went with a 2nd router with VPN instead

Not sure. I need to check that.
But I never have any problems with youtube.

Klipspringer: Just keep in mind that unblock-us won't work on all ISP's.

I'm with telecom.  I tested unblock-us using my browser and it seemed fine.

I have a TG589 VDSL modem so I have to set the DNS from the CLI but I assume that should be relatively straight forward.

Just ordered a Roku 3.

I'm looking forward to ditching Sky :-)

Don't have any regrets to ditching Sky about 2 years now.

My only gribe is the lack of Sport, but there are some free online streaming services which are pretty good (without the HD of course)
If there is a real good game on I just make a trip to the local pub with a couple of friends. This beats sitting at home on the couch anyway

I'm an NFL fan and gamepass is currently free so I'm covered there. I like to watch NRL too but the games are often too late and don't justify $90 per month for Sky.

At the moment Sky is mainly used for the kids shows, I'm hoping Netflix will be a cheaper alternative with sufficient content for the kids.

NonprayingMantis: I use apple TV with netflix. Even my 4 year old can work it. :D

Just what I wanted to hear as I have a 4 yr old too :-) Apple cancelled my ATV purchase as the refuse to ship to remailers......will wait for the xmas sales.

Yep, the Apple TV is so Wife/Kid friendly, I bought a second one so we could have NetFlix on both our TVs. Works really well for us.

Hopefully you have good luck there! I got my second ATV for $129 from Noel Leeming during a recent online sales event.
