If you press 'select' on the PS3 app while something is playing it will tell you in the top-left corner the res (don't think it shows bit-rate though, from memory)

Quite possibly yes, and not knowing exactly how their proxy interferes with these (and other things) just adds to the frustration. But then again I have seen it work a lot better than it is currently so why the change?

I don't really want to change providers unless I'm certain these sorts of issues will be resolved. 5Mbps speeds to LA servers however may be the all the proof I need. I'd jump on UFB but it won't be in my neighbourhood anytime soon.

I haven't checked no, but the quality for the most part is very good in between rebuffering attempts. If it were locked in SD I'd hope it would stream a lot better than it is!

I too have problems with VF for streaming both with Unotelly and Getflix and both with NZ and AU servers. One programme will play with no difficultly and then the next episode will be completely unwatchable. I'm using their VDSL and have a pretty good connection. I've speedtested back to New York (where Netflix is apparently streaming from) and I get 9Mbps down.

I threw Unblock-US out as i keep getting DNS issues and browsing issues.
Just cruising with Hola Unblocker and got a VPN setup that i get around 4MBp/s on. Clear for 1080P. I have not used my Roku in a few weeks. (Useless pile of rubbish paperweight)

I'm on Telecom VDSL.

I get Super HD on

Roku3
ATV3
Chromecast
PS4
Nexus 5

My device of choice is the Roku as it has the nicest interface.

My devices rarely, if ever, buffer during playback. Everything is pretty much flawless. I use getflix.com.au for my DNS.

Oh cool, i thought the Nexus 7 2013 was the only supported android device for superhd. Will have to give it a go.

Ive found i have to manually select 3000 through the stream manager to initialise HD, otherwise it will stay on SD. That test video posted earlier was a great help.

Actually you could be right. I didn't officially test the N5 with the sample vid but I'll check it tonight. I have an N7 so I'll test that too.
The N5 picture is superb though (tested with House of Cards).

Yeah see my steaming goes totally pants using the Auckland server. Definitely a routing issue somewhere on the VF network. I'm going to try the Singapore server tonight just for s&g's.

I was with Telstraclear cable before and having routing issues all the time with AU. but it get fixed once I contacted our ISP provider in AU (our business ISP provider). They would normally change on their end to correct routing..

Using

https://unlocator.com/ out of Denmark free to join and use while in beta.

I have a Netflix account.

Wired connection to PC / Full HD TV working fine with HD streams no buffering.
Connects to Android tablet streaming fine.
PS4 initual WiFi issues but seems much better with newer firmware, this can take 30 sec's or so to get an HD picture I'm thinging of running a ethernet cable to the PS4 and should get better results I'm sure.

are you getting SuperHD quality on our PS4? press select while watching so you can see your video quality..

Streaming to PC\tablet always seems to be fine 'cos it's native web based traffic, it's using a device such as PS4, ATV etc where the problem seems to be. My (limited) understanding is these devices use different ports and\or protocols to initiate the stream from their differing Netflix apps, hence there may be issues with VF's transparent proxy.
