I set up Netflix yesterday using Getflix (Auckland server) and Apple TV with the DNS on that device only. Watched the first episode of the second season of House of Cards last night. Apart form a bit of buffering during the opening credits is worked fine. I am with Telecom ADSL 14-16 Mbps download (my next door neighbour only gets 6 - go figure).

Also in case anyone is interested I used an Air NZ One Smart card to set up the Netflix account without any problems. Whole thing took me 10min.

I have a very similar set-up to OP in terms of Telecom VDSL, and close enough to exact same numbers on Speedtest to LA.

I use Getflix, and stream perfectly through Roku 3/Nexus 7/HTC One and PC. No buffering, HD, and each show loads in about 5-10sec.

Have never tried any of the other DNS services

I use getflix on xbox360. Had a few issues where the quality dropped yesterday, but no buffering and probably wouldn't have noticed if the show didn't have subtitles.

I use Overplay. Very impressed. Minimal buffering. Using Telecom VDSL with the DNS settings in the router.

I use Snap 100/50 UFB with unblock-us settings in the router. Picture on Hulu+ Netflix etc. snaps to HD within 2-5 seconds.

I'm no expert on this, however I thought from previous threads that Vodafone and Telecom users of these dns services were having issues because of proxy caching and not because of unblock-us or Netflix etc. Happy to be corrected.

My Note 2 gets good streaming but I can't stand the small screen (lol) How easy is it to get a roku and then get it set up?

I purchased my Roku 3 from Amazon US and it was a breeze to set-up. I have four Apple TV's, the Roku 3 and a PS3 and all work brilliantly.

Unotelly here - works fine with my HTPC and Roku 3, running through my WRT54GL running Tomato VPN firmware.

I also set my dad up with Unotelly, which works perfectly with his new Sony Bravia LED TV. Simply set it to "USA" and refreshed the Application list - bingo - Netflix, Hulu etc appeared. Signed in with his ASB credit card - but will have to see if it actually accepts it as payment once the month free trial ends.

Nice thing about Unotelly is the dynamo service - you can set it to run Netflix UK, as well as others, which expands the range of available content.

I use a StrongVPN / Vodafone combo, via a D-Link router. I watch it via the PS3 and the iPad... I have had Silverlight issues running it via a Mac laptop and MacMini however. But, to be fair, that's not unusual when it comes to Microsoft software on a Mac.

I use a friends local DNS servers which routes select DNS queries via a VPS in the states. For me it works better than unblockus or unotelly, and costs nothing.

I used to use these guys https://adfreetime.com very good and very cheap $2-3 NZD. BUT now my new ISP has some cool tricks that we can stream Netflix without any DNS or VPN.

steve98: How many of these threads do we need? I feel like this same conversation is repeating itself every week these days. Long story short: there are lots of solutions. Your mileage may vary.

We need a sticky with all the Netflix/DNS/ISP/insert_device_name info.

I think the main problem is people get Netflix working via their browser so they buy a device (eg roku) but their ISP transparent proxy prevents the device from working..... and another thread is started.
