Apparently Game Pass will be chromecast compatible this year.  Talk about twising the knife LOL

It's hard to be angry at them considering it was free all these years but this is still very gutting.... Hopefully they change their minds, but I ain't holding my breath.

To be honest, it is probably because Sommet Sports got the feed that they are cutting off the free games. I knew Sommet Sports would be bad for this country....

If sommet play a few games then I'll be ok with that because sky only ever played 2. I'd prefer game pass though.

According to wikipedia sommet has 2 Monday games per week. I've emailed sommet to see if that's the case.

That's still pretty poor considering what we used to get (then again 100% free is always going to be a hard yardstick to better). The chromecast compatibility would have been so awesome...

Out of interest, has anyone tried sign in with an Argentinian IP? They also used to get it for free.

The rumors floating around about why it went Subscription is the the NFL were aware that The countries where it was free were being used by people mainly in USA to use vpn's to watch free NFL and it had to stop. Not sure if that's true but i wouldn't be surprised.

there should be 5 games on tv per week here in NZ. ESPN have 3 (thursday, sunday and monday night football games) then Sommet will have 2 games each monday morning if it is the same as last year. ESPN had all playoff games and Sommet had some playoffs including the superbowl + conference finals iirc.

You can't actually subscribe to NFL pass in the USA, you have to get the NFL network which comes as part of a cable package. Though one of the FTA channels always has the rights to some games.  As for the difference in cost NFL is the number 1 sport and as such comes at a premium cost bit like steak v mince.

Absolutely gutted! I would tune in weekly to NFL Redzone when I could, was a great way to watch the weeks games. Sommet's sports coverage last year wasn't the best. I remember them showing a "live" game which was actually a replay of a game played the week before. It is still free I suppose but hopefully they will improve.

I've checked Australia and China prices - both the same as here (us$199) - anyone found a cheaper country?

Hmmm, I'm now considering that package - not sure if I can handle not having the playoffs etc guaranteed... (But can probably upgrade later cheap, and the NFL app on Xbox one gives the draft live anyway, which is main offseason thing I watch)

Well I took the plunge and went for the full fat $199 plan. I'll surface some time in February most likely. One goal for me this season is to take a day off and watch an entire Red Zone broadcast live.

Go Bucs!

Brooks had his enshrinement ceremony today :)

Did you use a 10% off code too?

I'm lucky - nearly all Mondays during NFL season I start work at lunch, so watch the full redzone show until then, and snf after work :)

I wish they'd price it based on time zone.  With most games starting at 6am I usually only see the first half before I head to work.

Go Colts :-)
