PottsyNZ: no chromecast?

Really?!

Well apparently it was only the most popular streaming device of 2014

I can 100% guarantee you it was not the most popular streaming device in nz in 2014,not even close (probably not even top 10).

It's only just started to be sold in shops in nz so there will be hardly any around. It makes total sense for them to develop for exosting platforms that have reach right now rather than devices that have virtually no coverage in nz.
You'd have to be an absolute idiot to prioritise chrome cast development over, something like Samsung which will have hundreds of thousands of connected devices ready to play.

I think he was referring to world wide not NZ..   Chromecast should be a priority.  I disagree that Samsungs in NZ has  hundreds of thousands of connected devices ready to play.  I for one don't but do have a Chromcast, Apple TV and WD TV, Pana BD player

So this re-launch seems to be yet another case of lipstick on a pig. The iOS app doesn't allow AirPlay (well, actually it will happily AirPlay the ads, but not the content). And the search is case sensitive in the app (but not on the website).

sure, it should be on the list of devices to add support for soon,  but certainly not prioritised in front of the many devices that already have hundreds of thousands in NZ households already - like PS3, Samsung TV etc.

Does anyone else find the new TVNZ website totally sucks? They used to display streams of when shows where released, such as the watch first ones. Now they don't so you have no way of knowing if there was a new show released, unless you go into that show to check.

I can't get anything to play, I see the video controls flash up briefly then video box turns black and nothing plays, both safari and chrome. Back to netflix and hulu I guess....

I hate how these companies dumb these things down, and do do full testing. The number of websites that don't work properly under safari is quite large these days I have found, and have to use firefox or chrome.

Works perfectly for me, on VF cable and Firefox - but only in fuzzy SD.
The main problem is the programs on offer ...

works fine for me in Safari - in so far as it does what it is meant to do - can't say I see any advance on the old one.
