tdgeek: So, if I subscribed to Netflix NZ, got Unotelly, I can easily switch to any country's Netflix I wish to, by a mere change of a Netflix and/or Unotelly setting?

Yes that's correct. Just a change on unotelly

Nice. No need to use US creditcard, mailing address etc that I've noticed. Makes it quite compelling, assuming the cost is good. NF+LB-SKY=COOL

Stu:
networkn: Does Dynamo work with FireTV?

Dynamo should work with anything. Basically, once you've changed the region in Dynamo any device on your account will direct to the selected Netflix region as it's all done at the UnoTelly end.

The only downside I guess is that if other members of the household are watching Netflix on other devices, they'll be directed to the same region selected in Dynamo.

Reading the Unotelly site last night you can have up to three different regions at once in the household. Just go to their FAQ.

I should think you could do that easy enough.
I tried Netflix for a little while last year (with Unotelly).
I managed to sign up via the US site.
All you had to do to change to another region (UK for example) in the unotelly dashboard and voilà thats what shopfront you see.

That's handy. Never had a need for it as it's not been an issue for us so far.

keewee01:
BarTender: Is it just me or the bar on the far right is doing a bit of double dipping. Since a lot of the titles are available across all regions.

Not saying that UnoTelly don't provide anexcellent service. Just a bit of dodgy graph usage IMHO.

If you tallied all of the individual countries up then their sum would be several times the size of the existing total catalogue bar - so it sin't dodgy and I don't think there is any double dipping going on there at all. If the sum of all the individual countries equaled the catalogue then yep, but that is far from the case.

So you believe that Orange is the New Black and House of cards are only represented in a single one of the bars on the graph? Which jurisdiction to you think they are counted in?

Cheers - N

Well since you work with graphs all day you will know that it is valid to count a title like Orange is the New Black in every region it is available in seen as the graph is by region, as long as they only include each title once in the total.

I think their graph is probably pretty accurate. I doubt they have double counted titles, otherwise the end bar would be much taller.

Grab an app (e.g. iStreamGuide) that shows titles by region and do a bit of searching.... you will find that there are heaps of titles that are in other regions that are not in the USA.

Have now had a look at the FAQ. You can have three different regions but one region can only be the US, one can be whichever region you choose (that is, set with Dynamo), and the third is your home region. So from NZ, you couldn't have Norway, Sweden and Mexico as the three regions. Still not a bad feature though!

I would suggest not changing to a NZ based account if you already have a US one.

The reason for this is that the country you open your account in is your home region.  The "My List" function only works on your home region.  If you are going to be accessing the US catalogue the most then you should leave this as your home region.

From NetFlix - While My List is a globally supported feature, My List won't be displayed in your Netflix experience if you're traveling outside of the region where you created your Netflix account. Don't worry--everything you've added to My List will be waiting for you when you return home.

If you don't use "My list" then swap away I guess.
Cheers
Kirk.

Not sure I understand. My List seems to work in all regions, but only shows offerings available in the selected region. It also only seems to remember where you left off in the region you were watching the show in.

Maybe this only works with Unotelly. As you mentioned in an earlier post you can set your home region.  This is not the case for all DNS services.  Getflix for example allows you to access any region but you cannot change your home region.

The following in quoted from Netflix help.

While My List is a globally supported feature, My List won't be displayed in your Netflix experience if you're traveling outside of the region where you created your Netflix account. Don't worry--everything you've added to My List will be waiting for you when you return home.

So maybe Unotelly somehow sets the home region to the same region you are currently viewing.

Pass. Perhaps it is a UnoTelly 'perk'. I haven't tried any other services as UnoTelly has been working fine.

Have a look at www.lemontv.co.nz (thread on Geekzone) or as mentioned earlier in this thread I think istreamGuide.com for content in each region.

Hello!

@myopinion: You can always raise a ticket with us so we can check why you are experiencing buffering at: http://goo.gl/HmnZo2

@tdgeek: That's right! All you need to do is to change your UnoTelly Dynamo settings. Please refer to this FAQ for more info about our Dynamo feature: http://goo.gl/YaED28

@networkn: Yes, Dynamo works with Fire TV and the other devices we support. You can even watch multiple regions of Netflix in the same household: http://goo.gl/Vz3WU2

Well what we did was count the unique titles from each region and then compiled them into a huge list which totalled 68,000! But then we removed the repeat titles and got our number of approximately 15,200. :)
