Unless the bandwidth is bitrate, I'm not familiar with Netflix debugging output.

ABove that... What does this section look like for you?

Playing bitrate (a/v): 96 / 3000 ( res: 1280x720, par: 1x1 )
Buffering bitrate (a/v): 96 / 3000

3000 looked fine on my 27" 1440p screen in my bedroom (browser), however i installed the win10 netflix app and now get 5800, also getting that in the lounge on the firetv (100mb slingshot). However when i was on adsl2, 3000 was more than adequate but im not overly fussy.

stats are not the same when using the win 8 App. but it does give you access to 5.1 audio under the languages setting.

fyi, if you're on a mac you can get 1080p by using safari (chrome will only go to 720p):

Playing bitrate (a/v): 96 / 5800 ( res: 1920x1080, par: 1x1 )
Buffering bitrate (a/v): 96 / 5800
Buffer size in Bytes (a/v): 2804877 / 155425720
Buffer size in Bytes: 169833977
Buffer size in Seconds (a/v): 234.031 / 222.473

See? Something IE is better at...

Seriously though, probably Chrome is using HTML5 and IE is using Silverlight - Silverlight enforces DRM.

Interesting stuff, I'd previously used their example short to see what bitrate I was getting and was pleased I was getting the maximum after a few minutes. I've run it again and after a few minutes get this:

Using the Ctr+Alt+Shift+D method I've just become aware of (thanks Nakedcity) I see I don't actually get above 720p either.

As you can see I'm running Windows 7 with Chrome. Don't have IE so can't try that out.

IE, Chrome, Safari and the windows app all support the suitable html5 for 1080p according to the Netflix support person I spoke to. I can get 1080 on ie and the app on my surface if that's any help.
