Is it a common 2.1/5.5mm DC plug or something weird? I have a heap of 12v 1.5A adapers from ext HDDs I have schucked and they seem to be good for at least 2.25A without any sag.

It has a slightly smaller plug/socket that all the other power adapters I can find. I have 100's of 5mm OD but no 4.5 OD ones :-(
Well 5mm is too big which is the most common (as far as I know) and the one needed is about 1mm smaller OD. When I get home I'll measure it.

I found 1 device at home which Fitted but it has 9V output only (and that is used on the Home Phone)

Bugger.

I'd plug the 110v one in - outside incase it vents something and see what happens in that case. Cable will still be useful to transplant even if there is an unlikly event that the adapter goes pop.

I'd plug the 110v one in - outside incase it vents something and see what happens in that case. Cable will still be useful to transplant even if there is an unlikly event that the adapter goes pop.

I might cut the cable and put proper adapter on so I don't have to pay $30 odd for a multi adapter from jaycar/dse/playtech/pbtech. I don't like white smoke leaking from things

Yeah I would say its a fair good chance it will be smoking if you put it on 230V. Don't really like the smell of it myself, but to each his own I suppose.

You could plug it in, but only if you don't mind being the experimental bunny for us all. 240v will very likely fry it without the proper power adapter. I fried a brand new Sangean radio I got from the US by plugging it in using the 110v-only wall wart it came with. Very annoying it didn't just get the adapter, but that's the risk you take.

Better chance that its just whoever did the label artwork slapped 110v on it because that is what they copied off another one.

Chances of the powersupply OEM specifically spinning up boards for 110v only use just to satisfy a minor part of the market is quite slim.

I have the Roku Working now (rewired the supplied power Cable to a 240V power wart after cutting the plug off)

The Only problem I have now is My TV is not doing HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2. I asked Sony Before and After I got it if the TV would do it and they said it would but it fails (I wonder if I can claim CGA on a overpriced $NZ 8,000+ TV) if a 4K TV won't take a HDMI 2.0 Input :-). My Onkyo AMP can do HDMI 2.0/DHCP 2.2 but says the TV can't. (and directly plugging in to TV says it can't either)

As Advertised..
"The Sony X9004A 4K Ultra HD TV can be upgraded to the latest HDMI 2.0 standard to accommodate 4K/60p content playback via internet software update from the end of 2013.".

Also a reply from Sony NZ Support "

I have spoken to our level two support who have confirmed that the HDMI firmware update will be released in New Zealand. However, we don't know if this will be before the end of the year. Also, The 84 inch model will need a hardware change and not just a firmware update."

I also when enquired to Sony NZ if the PS4 would do 4K before I got one and...

"The PS4 will be able to support 4K video playback, but at this stage we are still awaiting more information in how this process will work directly"

See if you can get a refund if it wont do 60p, then go buy something bigger and better ;)

I've emailed Sony Regarding it...

The 65X900A is actually a Good TV except this problem. Why would I have got the TV if It can't play any of the 4K content. (As to play the content the HDMI 2.0 Media Players (I bet you can't name any) all have to support HDCP 2.2)

The KD75X9100C is less than what I paid for the 65" in the days.

People got their TVs replaced when the 360 came out and lots of NZ sold TVs couldnt do the 720p50 that they crippled the xbox360 with, because they were sold it as an HDTV. Same thing applies a decade later.
