I think Netflix move into original content is its only way forward looking at how the networks are now circling the wagons around their content by holding out on the likes of Netflix and Hulu with much longer lead times to making the content available. I expect this to shift even further to a time where networks just won't make content available to external companies at all.

I think we have to accept that if you want all the content, you will have to pony up for all of the subscriptions. Not the best outcome but he who owns the content gets to decide how its distributed.

I already have subscriptions to Hulu, Netflix, Amazon and Showtime to get the content I want plus some additional torrenting for content that isn't available to stream without a cable subscription - or paying through the nose for individual seasons. So much for cord cutting and unbundling cable, all we ended up with is format shifting to internet streaming.

I don't have NetFlix.  The NZ version has a very limited catalogue and I've never seriously looked into the various Geo-spoofing services.

We also have Lightbox (currently free).  I'd almost given up on them but they have finally introduced new series of several shows that I like.  Might even keep them when the free period ends.

We have MySky HDI - basic package plus SoHo.  Really enjoying it.  We record everything we watch, and FF any adverts (essential for documentary channels these days).  We watch a lot of on demand too.

I find the new integrated on-demand to be quite a useful function.  And come business end of the Super rugby season and then Abs season, I will turn sport back on.  The ABs are the draw-card for me with Sky.  No-one else has the ABs games live.

To be far, the vast majority of movies on Netflix have always been absolute trash tier. (E.g. Every movie made by 'the asylum') So if they are reducing those then I don't really care.
It's only if they are cutting decent movies that we should care.
