I have the latest version of the app and it mentions download in the change log, but no download options anywhere in the app that I can see on my 6P

View a show, if it is enabled to be. There is the generic Downward facing arrow beside the play button on episodes. My first test (android) was shooter.. And voila.

Can you do this on an Apple TV 4th gen?

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Nothing for windows app, Generally a windows machine would have way more storage to download.

I don't think so.

They appear to be aiming it at the "mobile" tablet/phone devices only, and the TVOS build is distinct from the IOS version

Also, is there any mention of any time limits on the downloaded versions, or will they play indefinately,

Can confirm Djmixerdomo's solution works on Android phone and tablet to change storage to sd card.

I used Spark wifi in City over lunch to try this out works well and can download more than Netflix shows.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

@ajobbins in the main hamburger menu (left?) is there a available to download option? It's not all titles.

I've been trying to get wanted from the nz catalog, but it never seems to start downloading. It could be lack of space....but it not popping up an error about that if it is.

Precisely why they took so long to do this i suspect.  They should have it locked down so you can't...or if you can find the file it should have some drm that, at the moment, shouldn't be breakable.

If you read the in-depth FAQ on the page prior (https://help.netflix.com/en/node/54816 ), it tends to indicate you NEED to remove them after watching to conserve space. To me, that says they stick around.

Looks like a fantastic move to me, even beating Amazon's offering if it states there longer than 30 days, and better than Apples rentals if it doesn't need to 'validate' online before even starting a _downloaded_ rental(!)

*Edit- Now if they had an option to queue download each new episode when next on WiFi (like podcasts) it'd be a really 'killer' addition!

Djmixerdomo:

cokeman2: Is there anyway you can tell the app to download to SD card ? I think the default just internal phone memory on my s7 edge can't find a way to change it?

You can indeed move it to SD card storage.

I'm not sure how similar the UI is between the S7 and my Note 4 but I went; Settings > Application manager > Netflix > Storage > Change

I was able to do this on my phone, but not on my tablet. The tablet has no option to change storage. I think this will be because my phone is Marshmallow, but my tablet is still on Lollipop.

After making the change on my phone, in the settings within Netflix it only shows the internal storage.

Tried this on my way back from London - I already had some Amazon Video content but never enough... So I downloaded a couple of movies and a few TV series (surprisingly the hotel WiFi was superb).

Watched the movie (War, 6/10) while offline on the plane from London but started watching it almost at the end of the flight.

When I got to LAX and tried finish watching the movie in the lounge Netflix showed the content as not available in my region. I disabled mobile data and the movie became available again.

It seems the movie is available in UK but not USA catalogue, and it checks if you're online, but if you're offline then it happily play it. I finished watching on the plane AKL - WLG.
