Since moving, we've been streaming everything over fibre. Working well enough, so probably won't bother installing aerials or dishes.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

I and when I say "i" that is meant to read my wife will be removing the UHF and Sky dish from our home. I am just not sure of the protocol for removing the Sky dish. Looking forward to a nice clean roof line.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Netflix and mostly catch-up on TVNZ/TV3 apps. Use Plex for content not available via those channels. Youtube gets a look in too for specific subscribed channels. Have VPN for overseas stuff that normally translates to BBC IPlayer - but occasionally use it for stuff on overseas Netflix.

Also have a HDHomerun setup so anyone wanting to watch liveTV can do so from any device in the house and via mobile devices. Decent 1080p quality and great WAF.

Still gets a reasonable amount of usage to be fair - I stream the evening news from it live to my PC most evenings whilst I do admin stuff and it's used quite a bit when the main TV is occupied by something you're not particularly interested in watching.

Useful also for recording stuff via Plex - but can't actually remember the last time I did that as it's more convenient to access catch-up on-demand.

Interesting the number using streaming only.....I only don't, not because I suspect it being unstable, I've not really had that as an issue, but more distrust that ISPs would start getting annoyed with the amount of data being used on unlimited plans, and curtail it.

I've not had any evidence to this effect (well apart from the removal of the Big Data plan from Spark in its hey day)

You could be right of course, but I don't think that genie can be put back in the bottle. The trend is clearly in the other direction.

Im using quite a bit of data these days, and BP have not made a sound about.... Im guessing Im probably a low usage user compared to others :D

100% streaming in our house. No UHF aerial on the roof and the Sky dish was made redundant about a year ago. Regarding data usage. We routinely go through 700-900 GB a month with one month at well over a TB. Never heard a peep from our ISP.

i watch sport so i have Sky, i have found over the years that streaming sport is hit and miss and i dont think i have streamed one sport event that hasnt had problems and viewing hasnt been interrupted so until the time that someone works out how to make streaming sport easy and straight forward and cheap i will stick to Sky.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Most of our viewing is streaming now, with a combination of Netflix, Lightbox, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO, iTunes movies, and the local on demand apps. We still use Freeview for local news and the occasional show.

Our monthly data usage is around 1TB, and has been for a while.

I still have Sky, although I'm close to pulling the plug on it.

However, I watch next to nothing using the actual Sky box, as recorded shows are transferred straight onto a connected recording unit and then to my Plex library. It's actually not a bad way of feeding the Plex collection with movies and TV shows, which can then be viewed on a mobile device or any TV in the house.

My Panny Freeview recorder similarly grabs anything on FTA TV I'm interested in (not much these days) for transfer to the Plex storage array. Anything acquired from friends or (very rarely) *other* means also goes there.

I have Netflix and Lightbox, but these account for only 12-15% of my viewing, although a bit more for my partner. Probably 75% to 85% of my viewing is on Plex. Only a miniscule amount is either live TV, live on Sky, or recorded Freeview - 1-2 hours in the last 3 months. In particular, I abhor being interrupted by ads.

Plan for next year is to dump Sky, and maybe add Disney+, a VPN and iPlayer. If my aerial stopped working, I doubt I would even fix/replace it.

My main constraint is time. I don't have a lot of time to watch TV and there is far more good content than I can ever hope to watch in the time available.

No idea how much data I use. Plan is unlimited so I tend to never look.

100% streamed in our house, TVNZ app on appletv for both live and ondemand, lightbox, netflix, hbonow, kayo and youtube.

I'd say we chew through about 800GB/mth, more during school holidays with x3 teenagers in the house and have done for quite some time. I really can't see ISPs going back to throttling connections etc, the trend has been downwards on pricing, upwards on speed and datacaps have all but gone the way of the video shop.

We are 100% streaming, pretty much all on demand except for sport on Kayo. A mix of Plex, Netflix, YouTube and broadcasters apps. We won't go back, especially as we are based overseas.

You can subscribe to SKY SPORT NOW (SSN), which has an app for use on Apple TV, but even if you're paying for a "full" SKY sub which includes all the sports channels, you have to pay again to get SSN, which I think is unfair.

Anyway, I watch internet TV a lot and I think that, overall, the quality is quite acceptable.

I'm not sure about up to date with the internet age. The noise about Spark streaming the RWC is the world is going to end, its too hard to stream and so on. Thats not about the issue they have had and resolve its about streaming

I agree, SSN should be complimentary for Sky subscribers. Its not that great though, the streaming motion wasn't good, SkyGo was better
