It's interesting, the inability to pause is one of the reasons I love going to the cinema. I concentrate, there are no distractions etc.

 

I don't enjoy missing part of a movie so I can make use of the amenities.

 

It helps I have a better than average movie watching environment at home as well :)

I don't think Wellington has a readings (anymore).  Unless it reoppened?  who knows.  Out the Hutt we only have lighthouse, and the Embassy is a single screen Event Cinemas.
