Thanks guys. I have lodged a ticket with Getflix, but they would only accept it wasn't a problem at my end after I sent a link to this thread. I would be happy with NZ Netflix and Amazon Prime, but my wife likes Hulu so I can't set an NZ DNS. Letting the Fire TV update the home page every few days through my phone is a hassle I will have to live with for a while. If anyone can think of a work around, please let me know.

I have a similar problem since a few days ago. My guess is that Amazon started to block the getflix proxy from their home screen. It's still possible to run applications from the settings menu (settings->applications->manage installed supplications->app->launch application). For Amazon content, changing to different DNS caches the home screen temporarily, then it's possible to switch back to getflix DNS and launch the prime video app.

It would be good if somebody could check using another proxy service.

It's also possible to launch apps from the fire TV phone app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.storm.lightning.client.aosp for Android).
Home screen is only needed for prime video, since it can't be launched from the settings menu or the phone app.

I don't think Amazon  has blocked the Getflix DNS as it works fine on my  Apple TV with the same DNS.  The problem with the Apple TV is that you can't get the Fire TV apps only Amazon Prime Video  and the CBS News app.

I find when Home doesn't appear, even if the Apps icons are shown in the Apps tab, if you select one, you get three dots for a while and then it says application cannot be found. Need to switch networks to get Home back. I thin it's a Getflix thing but unless somebody with another proxy or VPN can confirm, that's speculation.

Even if Home cannot be selected I can still watch all US content another way. In fact I can even watch Netflix US from a device with DD+ audio (not the Firestick)

Got an update from  Getflix

Hello.

We just replaced router responsible for your Amazon Prime region.
Please login here: https://www.getflix.com/manage/dashboard and click Force IP Update button.
Then please deregister your streaming device, restart router and device.
Register again and check Prime.
Different customers have different experience, but for US Prime we recommend US DNS'es.
On some of the device Amazon is checking country origin of your DNS.
United States — Virginia (East) -
United States — Dallas (Central) -
United States — Oregon (West) -
Let us know about the result.

As this is not a private group I have removed the  DNS addresses.

I got as far as trying to re register the  Fire TV only  to find that the Amazon 2FA system seems to be down  as I don't receive the SMS  code.  It normally arrives in a bout 15 seconds. :-(

Will update when the  2FA system works

My DNS service hasn't had a problem like this yet.

[Mod update (MF): this is a public discussion so removed mention of working services to avoid being blocked]

Thanks old3eyes. Putting the West and Central DNS into the Fire TV directly. It didn't even need a reboot. Home screen loaded immediately. Cheers.

Thanx for the reply. I should have just gone and put the DNS in and see what happened rather than deregister it.  Tried again this morning but still no 2FA code from Amazon.  I can't turn off 2FA as I need a 2FA code to do that.  Catch 22.  I last used their 2FA last week  to log my wife's desktop into my account with no problems.

I'll try to find someone at Amazon to report this two and see how I go.  Technology can be a pain in the but when it doesn't work.

Finally got Amazon to disable 2FA and now the Fire TV has been registered again and all is good again.

I thought my WiFi had been playing up but changing dns has fixed it . Now if Getflix would fix things for Disney+ I would be happy , but not holding my breath .

Hi, has anyone else had this problem again? The home page stopped loading last night and the fix of changing the DNS to US servers hasn't worked. I've lodged a ticket with Getflix but I have found I get faster help from Geekzone members. Any ideas? Thanks.

I'm on Getflix and no problems last nite or this morning but just refreshed home page and  back to "Home page not available"  last time it was a faulty  router.
