A family Lite in future would be good to remove the distractions from YouTube and separately subscribe to Tidal until Google eventually provides a similar quality service.

This is good news that Premium Lite is now being offered in New Zealand. I currently pay $39.99 for a family premium subscription but we only use 2 of the available 6 accounts between my wife and I. This would make it cheaper to purchase two individual Lite subscriptions instead of the family.

The only thing that holds me back is ads during music videos. I often find myself going down a rabitt hole of obscure live cover versions on a Friday night after a couple of beers!

What I would really like to see available in New Zealand is the Premium Duo subscription that is available in some other markets. Full Fat premium but for only 2 accounts not 6 which I don't need.

I just canceled mine and not offered the lower price version. Will wait until the month expires and see what's offered.

The family price at $39 seems high. You really want four or more solid users for break even. I'm keen on returning to a family subscription. Not keen on the new price.

The TV is on a separate YouTube account with it's own history and play list etc. In that sense it is not a real user. YouTube supports multiple users. I want to avoid the need to select a user whenever the app is started. Oh well. A Lite subscription will remove ads from the TV. NZ$13.99 is on the high side for a service that no longer produces any of it's own content. The Google blog says the price increases will "continue to create additional revenue opportunities for our creators and partners". That would be a good thing. I have not found any details of how it does that..

A hypothetical future NZ Duo subscription would be workable except for the TV. I might go for a premium trial and see if the new bitrate music sounds better than last time I had premium.

Premium Lite is in the process of rolling out in your country. Please check back soon.

so obviously not fully launched, so will just keep checking back (had a week or two ago set my Premium to end because I was frustrated about the lack of Lite).

I got the same message when using that link in Incognito mode. My initial link had a bunch of '?xyz' parameter stuff behind it. I wasn't sure if that was specific to my account, so I removed it.

I got the initial link from this YouTube help article after clicking on the blue 'Join Premium Lite' button.

One downside of "Premium Lite" is that I can no longer add videos to the viewing queue on my tablet. Still need to test this on mobile & PC.

Ads before / after music videos is not going to affect me, but will have to monitor the WAF.

Edit: WAF very low. Back to Family Premium we go. FYI: Queueing on PC still works, definitely not on tablet.

Try it again. I was getting the same message when you posted, but it's giving me Lite for $14 now.
