The latest Firefox version (v1.0.176) has more sites enabled, including iplayer.  It doesn't show in the Firefox add-ons manager but can be downloaded directly from the Hola site.

im loving Hola unblocker. I am looking to change to  FLIP unmetered but wasnt sure if Hola will be limited under their lists of of limited programs ( http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=147&topicid=113607). Anyone have Hola on FLIP unmetered plan?

Hulu has blocked Hola, as well as BBC. Back to the VPN then. Any free solution is worth what's being paid...

That's a bit annoying since it allowed me to watch Hulu on a browser. Still Unblock works fine on devices still so as you say, you get what you pay for.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

This isn't the first time; Hulu blocked Hola about a month ago and Hola released an update to fix it. Hopefully there will be another update soon :)

According to Hola's Twitter, Hulu is now working again. I'm at work so can't test it.

Users can't just keep playing whac-a-mole. I have removed it and just use my VPN service.

Unblock-US servers mixed with your ISP's servers and then having your router decide which dns to use is still the best option imo.

Which is what David post in his blog about TVNZ OnDemand App behind Unblock-US. You obviously need a router that supports DNSMasq

freitasm: After further testing I've found that Hola will bypass your VPN and always use the ethernet or WiFi connection to "accelerate" the browsing.

This means if you need to access a website through a VPN, or if you want to use a VPN for example while connected over an insecure WiFi network then you have to disable acceleration, otherwise the traffic will be unencrypted and visible to anyone in the same LAN.

Does that work if it's an IPSEC VPN with split tunnelling disabled?  Could be an interesting way to circumvent those restrictions if so...

Not sure, haven't tested as I don't have an IPSEC VPN. But it works on SSTP and non-VPN connections.

Does it make any difference if you are using TCL as your ISP? Their transparent proxy breaks unblock-us for port 80 traffic anyway so does it matter what DNS servers you have set in your router?

I have the unblock-us ones set since those settings work fine for my tablet, PS3, phone etc but I would have thought it would make no difference for my desktops.

I had it on my laptop and it worked fine. I still have the full Windows client on my media center so that I can use the Hulu Desktop application and it works fine (when Hulu doesn't block it).

I've been having a play with the Hola client over the weekend - very happy with it so far...

One irritation is that when I untick and save the option for it to start with Windows [Win7] it still starts with windows.

Is this happening to anyone else?

The next step will be to manually remove it from startup...
