Partner set up her new Onesmart card, transferred money over from old one on 23/11/2016 but today finds out that they declined a payment on 29/11/2016 - apparently they do not accept 'recurring payments' - she had a monthly subscription charged to her old Onesmart account!

I'm just wondering why you need to go through a third party to buy iTunes store gift cards? Since my card stopped working I discovered that I can go to apple.com (while logged into my US account) and email an iTunes gift card from myself to me. It allows me to pay with my NZ Visa card no hassle. Then its just a matter of waiting 5 mins for the email to arrive and click the link to load the value I selected into my US iTunes account.

No, I definitely mean an iTunes card. I bought one last night as a test run as I didn't have enough in my US account to get my "free" subscription to HBO Now.
I don't think I'm allowed to post a link but if you search "iTunes gift cards via email" on the US apple store website then you have the option of buying an iTunes gift card (not apple store card). It says that All cards can be used on the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, and Mac App Store and towards Apple Music memberships. You can select a gift card design and include a personal message
Once the info is filled out then click add to bag and it takes you through to shopping cart. There is option to pay via apple pay or credit card. I paid with my normal NZ Visa card. Received the email with the iTunes card in it about 5 mins later. Clicking on the link in the email opened iTunes and credited my US account with the amount. It was pretty seamless.

I must try that next time! If it works I can re-subscribe to Hulu via iTunes and pay for it all from my NZ Visa :)

Just wondering what you did about having to fill in a US billing address for your NZ credit card?

I have a made-up US address associated with my US iTunes account. It has the address but no house number etc.
I couldn't remember the website asking me about an address so I've just been through the process again (buying another $10 card) and you are right it does ask for a billing address. I put in my fake US one which is just a street and a ZIP code alongside my NZ credit card and it accepted it. Gift card came through 5 mins later and it has been credited to my US iTunes account.
Maybe this is a loophole in their system? As billing address clearly doesn't match the address on file for my NZ credit card.

I used my YouShop address and it has worked - got the email today with the code (took about 12 hours) so you're right, it does appear to be an issue. Thanks again for pointing this option out.

No problem! It sure beats paying the premium mark-up on third party sites. I'm sort of tempted to buy up large now in case the loophole closes..
Wow, didn't know the old OneSmart card worked with US iTunes... Had I known I would have switched... Still using a payment option available in the country where I'm from... Though maybe it's better I didn't since I would have to change all over again.
Didn't work for me (BNZ Visa)
"Your payment authorization failed. Please verify your information and try again, or try another payment method."
I initially tried using my YouShop address, and then tried an address of a US based hotel. Same result.
It also prompted an alert to be raised on the transaction by my bank, and I had to ring them to confirm it was all fine.
