@PhantonNVD that's exactly the behaviour seen in previous instances. Someone creates a post, let a few old user reply and after a week a new user comes in and... spam.

We have been running this forum for years now. Seen everything.

@danepak Well according to this site here for PIA, they have gigabit servers, so should be relatively fast. I am on PIA but I am also on ADSL so can't test the speeds out for you to be sure.

I think they are doing it to play the search engines. Probably some SEO trick.

EarthVPN: I can push ~20Mbps through their Canada servers. I haven't performance tested the NZ servers, but I shovel all my guest wifi traffic through them without trouble. And the UK servers are fine for BBC iPlayer.

danepak: A friend of mine is using Express VPN.
Pricey, but very good, with hardly any speed loss (his connection is 100/20 - not sure how much he loses, but apparently not a lot).
Generally, Express VPN gets the highest rating around the internet. Sadly, no free trial.

I am using Express at the moment fir a month to see how they are. And yes they are costly when converted to NZ dollars. Did have laptop video streaming at the same time as main pc. I Didnt encounter any lag. I cat get FIBER YET!! NOOOOO

robjg63: If you just wanting to watch foreign content, then you don't need a VPN, a geo unblocker will do the job for you.
Dns4me.net is worth looking at.
Approx $30 for one year and if you set up their dns in your router then everything in your house will be unblocked.

Geo unblocker have the advantage of just tricking the sites into thinking you are in the USA or UK and then all the traffic comes via your normal internet connection. A VPN routes all traffic via the VPN and can often cause lagging and buffering.

So would this work with Netflicks without having to make any changes in my router. When I change from one country to another watching netflicks thru the likes of and Ipad or smart phone eta...?

I'm going to try PrivateInternetAccess when my current subscription expires.

PIA for secure connections. The NZ server is very slow for me. I rarely get above 5Mbps while I can pull >80 from their Sydney servers.

I used to be with Astrill but had the same problem as timmmay and couldn't be bothered arguing with them as my subscription had less than 6 weeks to run.

I've used Astril, PIA, VyprVPN, ExpressVPN and NordVPN

Astrill always gave me good consistent speeds, but they were expensive, only allow one device at a time unless you pay even more, and Netflix eventually stopped working with it.

Both VyprVPN and ExpressVPN provide good consistent speed, I'm currently using VyprVPN as it works with our favourite streaming service

PIA and NordVPN were slow

Thanks for the info on VyprVPN will give them a go.

So you can have three devices at your home connected at once. I've been a customer of theirs since 2014. I've used them via PPTP and OpenVPN.

freitasm: One thing folks: talking about protocols, if using a VPN for privacy or security then never ever use PPTP. L2TP or OpenVPN are secure but not PPTP.
