I'd actually be quite happy with a proper UI/UX and for it to remember what ep I watched. That would be quite handy.

If you’re talking about NF, this has been a thing for a while. I can watch something on one device, pick up another and carry on where I left off at the precise moment I stopped. It’s all there in “Continue watching”

If it worked all the time for everyone. It doesn't for me. I finish Star Trek Discovery, its still on S1 Ep3. Why is that? Its that as its unreliable. I googled, it, its not uncommon. Ive since renamed my profile too Main as it is the main profile and created another, in the hope that this fixes the fault

richms: Netflix audio has already been so far ahead of the other streaming options that I havent even had a problem with it. I would like to see a bit more video bandwidth tho, often seeing a few artifacts that shouldnt be there.

I have always had vocal problems with Netflix movies. Turn up for vocals and turn down for car chases, gun battles etc (John Wick is a classic for this). It only occurs with Netflix movies NOT TV shows/series. This occurs whether I use TV only or HT system. Have spoken to Netflix twice about this over the period I have had them.

Will try it tonight to see if this new sound quality has fixed this.

That is working as intended then, Movies are made with higher dynamic range than TV shows. If you want a compressed experience then see if your receiver has a night mode or similar option to compress it down to a single level. Also try turning up your center channel a bit. This is no different to movies going all the way back to DVD/Laserdisc when ac3 was a new thing.

It might be as intended but its still really annoying. I get it on Emby as well with a lot of DTS movies. The only fix I've found for my no receiver stereo 'setup' is playing stuff through Kodi which seems to have settings to help with that. I should probably try NF through Kodi sometime.

Night mode, very interesting as partner is a shift worker and usually sleeps late afternoon through to midnight so I have to be very careful with sound. The volume button gets a real workout.

Will have to check my Panasonic Blu-ray PVR DMR-BWT835 and Panasonic Viera TH-L50E6Z to see if they have this facility in their sound settings.

Thanks

You must have jedi like powers to avoid any spoilers on GOT, you only have to open up pretty much any new / entertainment webpage and its there in black and white. That would spoil the viewing experience for me more than 1080 v 4k

No, my internet web browsing history is pretty much very limited to tech/sport/music I don’t do social media at all and the only current events news I look at is the articles listed on my news feed on my phone.

Not sure, I have multiple profiles as well like Lounge, Bedroom, iPad, spare room etc to avoid others using a single profile (my 2 specifically) and messing up my catalogue and where I’ve left off, maybe what your trying will work, I’ve had no issues since keeping out the riff raff

I also have riff raff profiles! The daughters, and they are all fine. Others have this issue, I guess its when a few certain things collide, but I'll see how it goes. If its juts my profile that messed up, which seems to the the case, a new one should be fine.

Ok had a play with my Panasonic settings and after winding up 'Volume Correction' to max and switching on 'Auto Gain Control' discovered this made an improvement. Quite a noticeable improvement.

As far as my HT goes I already had the front centre speaker at its optimal setting along with the other 5 speakers which we measured out correctly, distance & height, during installation.

I also presume our room design does not help being that it is a huge lounge dinning with open plan kitchen. The speaker setup is such that they all face towards the centre of the lounge viewing area.

Before I changed to the new settings I tested a Netflix movie and was able to reduce the volume down approx 25% but still needed to play around between vocals and car chases etc. So I beleive there is an improvement with Netflix new sound quality broadcast. But I am no expert in these things.

When I introduced my new Panasonic equipment settings there was a definate improvement in all sound sources, FTA and streaming and then listening to the same Netflix movie I did not have to play with the volume at all.

So overall I am a happy viewer and listener. 😁

I don't have a 4K TV, but have a Dolby Atmos setup. Has anyone tested Netflix's DAtmos vs DD5.1? Do you think it's worth upgrading plan just for DAtmos?

Why not just trial the top plan for a month? There's nothing like testing it for it yourself, rather than rely on others with different systems, different ears, different expectations...

If you're already a Netflix subscriber, it'll cost you $3.50 or $7.00; if you're not, it's still only $17.90.

Done. Xbox One S is my client, so hopefully it'll be sweet. I'll give out a whirl later hopefully.

It's a pity there's no DAtmos on Netflix via Chromecast, even though it's technically possible.
