AKLGUY79:
Signing up to Spark Sport? Watching on Free to Air TV?
Via another website? (please do not say how to access via VPN or DNS changes)
Not planning to. At all.

Combination of free to air on NZ TV and UK ITV. Would probably subscribe to Spark for it if a major fan but none of my family are.
MikeB4: @tdgeek it's not just the frame rate issue, Spark Sport has the feel of a Beta release and has poor device support. The big issue 'I' have is Rugby NZ has said 'suck it' to its grass root support.
If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.
MikeB4: I believe Rugby NZ made a huge mistake granting rights to Spark who are making a dog's breakfast of it. This is the first RWC I will not be watching. I gave away my Spark RWC pass.
What are your complaints?
Seriously I don't see why this is such a big deal. At worst, you plug your laptop into your TV via HDMI. It's been this way for years with EPL and surprised by the reaction of people here.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Well for one you assume that all NZ has access to internet that is capable of doing a decent stream and another that all NZ can afford the additional costs to to subscribe.
Rugby NZ owes its existence on many levels to the grass roots support it receives in EVERY town in NZ, the regions provide the strengths.

Once again you are making the assumption that the NZRU made this decision. They didn't, it was made by Rugby World Cup Limited, just as all previous rights RWC have been allocated by them.
The NZRFU sold out to the highest bidder 25 years ago when they allowed Sky to have all the rights with no true free to air partner. In 1995 there wasn't national coverage by sky as satellite didn't come along until 1997. What's the difference?

I agree
It makes me wonder, that if RWC had been always on PPV TVNZ, and if they sold out to Sky, what the furore would be then. It seem to be more of the human trait that doesnt like change
Kayo for me, although I wish Rugbypass had the rights as their condensed versions of past games are brilliant for catching up quickly.

The vast majority of NZ has internet. I know one family who is rural whose internet is only so so, they only stream
If Sky had it, half the country does not have it. Many cannot afford it, so they go to the pub, friends, or watch the many matches that are on FTA
Streaming was supposed to be the be all and end all of modern TV. Those that have to pay additional costs, can buy a low cost STB. AND they then become introduced to what steaming has to offer for the future, and this will happen again with other content. Or they can go to the pub, friends, or watch the many FTA matches
What you say is correct, but its not a major issue, its a transition
me - on the laptop
Was going to be via the Sky Sport App on my LG C7 OLED....but now most likely via Apple TV 4K Box. Was looking at picking up an Apple TV box anyway....the LG App debacle means ill be getting it sooner. I got the RWC when first released @$59.99....a bargain. People with Broadband/app issues are probably going to the local Pub or a friends place to watch games anyway. A small few will probably just moan about it?.
Sony 77" A80J OLED, Panasonic UB820, Panasonic BD-T460, Apple TV 4K 3rd Gen, Samsung Q990D Soundbar
Spark app on Apple TV4, or 12.9 iPad Pro if I park up in bed.
Spark Sport via a Sheild or Bravia Tv. As a fallback, ITV / FTA.
Early rounds are going to be quite interesting with the current abilities/form of the teir 1 nations.
