Watching Aus v Fiji. PQ great again but still getting picture pauses in the studio crosses and ads. Not a major but a bit worrying that it might happen in a game.

Is anyone else seeing that?

AppleTV App on fibre. Cabled.

Not seeing it here on 900/400. Ads are fine -- Can skip back where ever I want on the game and then back to live - no issues all smooth.

Australia verses Fiji working fine here. This stream is 50p, the Japan/SA, two weeks ago was 60p. Either is fine but interesting how it changes presumably on where broadcasting to.

Nope. All looks great on AppleTV. Are you using your ISPs DNS? I’ve heard using different dns services can be problematic.

Spark Sport sets another record on a huge night of rugby

Kiwis are settling in for an exciting evening of watching the Rugby World Cup over broadband as the Spark Sport service sets new viewership records.

In the first match of the evening, Our Trans-Tasman rivals, Australia, came from behind in a nail-biter to beat our Pacific Island neighbours, Fiji, 39-21.

At kick-off there was about 44,000 subscribers* online and as Fiji took the lead and word of the exciting clash got around, the game finished with around 88,000 subscribers tuning in. Tonight’s numbers so far are significantly more than last night’s tournament opening match between Japan and Russia.

Throughout the game, the Spark Sport streaming service worked well from a platform and broadband network perspective.

Quality looks good but no proper option to rewind like sky box offers.. also cannot get the spark sports app yo go back to live feed once rewinding. 10 second also pointless

Mine rewinds fine. Its a scrollbar so much quicker than Sky, but no thumbnail, but its quick enough and easy enough. To go to live feed, scroll to the end of the scroll bar where the coloured bar (the played feed) ends.

Appreciate its a press release but do we really need to include the score and winner? some may not have watched the game yet.

Score is probably all over the news. But I do agree.

I like that with this people can watch when they are ready.

Been seamless for me! Love the quality. (Apple TV, 1000/500 fibre on Slingshot)

Got a bit confused though when the stream finished and had to start it again to watch the next game.

I decided to give the Spark Sports app (rwc) a try on my measly 7.6 Mbps Adsl2 + backup connection. Worked perfectly fine...again jumping back words etc ...worked great...no buffering.

Did France X Argentina just glitched at around 29 minutes mark with a freeze of about eight seconds?

A few minutes ago mine went to low res, maybe 250p for about 8 seconds. No freeze though
