quickymart:

If they manage to fix the issue before the end of the game, does it get taken off Duke and everyone goes back to streaming it? Or does it stay on Duke now until the end of this game?

Stays on Duke

Started on 2015 Android TV app, moved to Chromecast Ultra over WiFi, after fifteen minutes, a quiet moment to change. Stream was stable, few drops in stream quality but no stops, went back a few times at half time then went back to live. Has maintained 30 seconds behind Duke once it came online. Room for improvement SS. ISP Vf Fibre

Had the same drop in quality for brief periods as others on my Panasonic with Spark VDSL. Seems issues were fixed mid second half and stream was great (maybe as the load dropped with viewers switching to Duke?). On the whole not a bad experience.

As suspected. It seems pretty much people complaining about this were on Spark (ISP).

I am thinking the worst business decision was to brand the service Spark Sport - now people won't be able to differentiate one (stream) from another (ISP).

Must say I (personally) think it's pretty ridiculous seeing all the people demanding a full refund - for one game. I wonder if the same people were on the phone to Sky screaming about rain fade when that happened and demanding compensation as well? Having said that, if Spark wanted to give a partial refund, that might be different. I dunno.

Had a lot of sporadic quality issues. Also audio lagged on their first try and seemed like video skipped a few times but otherwise was perfect quality also no others using the internet

I was watching on ITV, via a Chromebook and I had to restart the stream probably 7 times throughout the game. It had worked perfectly for the France Vs Argentina.

I started watching on a PC via Chrome connected to a TV but it would stutter every now and then I got so frustrated I moved to watching using the ITV app on a phone. The picture never froze during the game but every now and then the picture quality would deteriorate a bit with some blockiness and fuzziness in the picture. But then again ITV are not delivering to this part of the world so there would be no local CDNs caching content here.

I cannot fathom how you could possibly compare this to a meteorological event.

Personally for me Bigpipe 100/20 with constant high def->low def->high def switches.

That’s not the case... I’m on Vodafone and had resolution drops... many friends also had issues on other ISP’s.
