It also looks like Apple will this year sometime launch an updated ATV box

If you use the updated ATV just for streaming, it wont really make any difference? Maybe a tad more responsive but it seems ok anyway?

The only thing I'd like to see in a new ATV box would be support for VP9 so I could watch 4K YouTube but I'm not holding my breath. Unlike others, I actually like the remote.

Sorry if this was asked before, but are the 10 or so shows on a PC web browser of Apple TV the only shows available? When I go to the App site it shows more selections like movies etc?

So you cant install the app to PC?

Im trialling it just for the programme doco about Elephants and TV show SEE, Its gooooood, I hate Jason "steroid" Mamoa, I remember his skinny frame on that american daytime soap opera, suddenly he is huge, but I guess no different to the other guy I dislike, that aussie guy Thor. Dont mention the Rock, he was a natural giant by the age of 15. These guys are just a bit tall but lean and now suddenly bulked beyond possible 8lb muscle naturally possible per year (does reach a limit too). But thats just the natural lifter in me, I do think Mamoa has improved his acting skills, Thor guy not so much.

Anyway rant over, is there no way to get more shows on PC? Otherwise its not really worth the cost.

Movies are pay per view.

Yep, they want what others charge for 100’s or maybe 1000’s of shows for seven or eight shows, no third party ones, just the ones they’ve made themselves.

I’d be surprised if they have many paying customers.

The only way it really works out as cost effective is if you purchase a new Apple device and get 12 months of free access to ATV+

Otherwise it's not really (yet) good value for money.

I have it free as I got a new iPhone, but I am enjoying it...especially See & The Morning Show.

I find her new chin a bit odd...but it's good to see them playing characters that are their age and not some weird "slap on some pancake and she's suddenly 24" rubbish.

Steve Carrell is outstanding in that show, I think.

When announcing the Apple TV app for C9 TVs recently, LG also said an Apple TV app for C8’s would be leased later this year - see the Press Release quote above.

I have just installed the Apple TV app on our C9 and it works beautifully - mainly because you can easily control it using your LG TV remote. It’s a pleasure to use and so much better than using the POS PITA remote that came with the Apple TV 4K box that we have running on our C8.

Yup agreed the remote for the apple box is utter crap but we just use the lg remote on it works perfectly.

@JaseNZ I really dislike the ATV remote with a passion because I find it too small, too slippery, too everything and as a result, difficult to use. It’s so minimalist that IMO it’s too SmartA like some Apple stuff.

I just remembered that you had mentioned using the LG remote. Googled to find what settings etc were required and I now appear to have this working. This is a Very Good Thing and I’m rapt to be able to drop the ATV remote.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

https://support.apple.com/en-nz/contact should help with contacting Apple about this. Have you tried restarting the device you are trying to cancel on or anything like that?

https://support.apple.com/en-nz/contact should help with contacting Apple about this. Have you tried restarting the device you are trying to cancel on or anything like that?

I tried the contact link but its just going round and round with no obvious contact.

Ok this is WEIRD, but thought Id just in case another Browser version user has issues.

So after trying to cancel for 3 days I gave up, and was going to ring the bank today to refund and block.

However, when I logged in, it now only has "Subscribe", so I checked my bank and no money has been taken out.

I did reply to a generic apple "spam" email as I could never get to any kind of support, but I doubt thats what did it. I think the service when it going to billing day must have sent the cancel order but it was showing " error try again later" to me every time.

Nothing major and $9 I wasnt too stressed as imo SEE was worth the $9 anyway. Apple has confirmed a season 2 already, or a leak has. But not expecting before 2021,, but MAYBE. Cant wait. Will happily pay $9 for a season of it.

If apple keeps making shows like it and For All Mankind, I may consider it an option, as they are as good or better than shows made by Netflix imo (hey Netflix please dump Adam Sandler and his overtly religious connotations".

My main issue with Netflix is they make some great shows for 1 season then dump them. Even Marco Polo should have been kept running, or Enter the Badlands (sorry forgot the name, but is truely a badass awesome TV series).

I havnt watched free TV for 15 years until TVNZ put there app on Xbox and on Browser. I cant stand ads, if Sky dropped its priced I still wouldnt buy it because when they started the selling point was "no ads", now you pay to watch TV with ads, thanks for Fudging over NZ free sport Sky, then making us pay to watch ads in between at LUDICROUS pricing.

I think Neon is probably the 2nd best option if like me for some reason you cant get "Prime", not sure whats up there, I must try again as I miss "Ballers".
