I am a Premium subscriber.
How did you manage to down grade? What are the steps.

My Plan is:
I will wait for the time just before my Premium monthly auto-renews, then un-subscribe and see if I get the Lite offering.

Is this the way to go about it?

You might get an option on https://www.youtube.com/paid_memberships to downgrade already since it seems most people that were delayed are not now. Otherwise, set it to cancel and then visit https://www.youtube.com/premiumlite daily or so until the offer becomes available.

Sorry. No option on that link - Only to cancel my Premium.
My Premium renewed about 6 days ago. so dont want to lose the 24 days remaining on my subscription.
I think I will keep it going and set a reminder to cancel just before it auto renews.

Cancel will let you use the remaining days, I did that last month as mine was due to renew earlier in May.

Hmm... I signed up on the 2nd of May and got a month free. "Your 1-month trial begins immediately and will end on 2 Jun 2026."

Today they sent me "As a reminder, your trial period ends on 1 Jun 2026."

Has anyone else had a day "stolen"?

I waited and waited, but it never became available, so I renewed Premium.
Today, I navigated to the Premium Lite page and got the option to "downgrade".
Two clicks and I was away. Just received an email confirming the change.

My free month is up on Friday, won’t be renewing. Don’t see any point paying Google to suppress ads when I can do this myself via Brave on iOS. They don’t even offer the option to play up next, you need Premium for this simple request. Pass.

You watch YT in a brave browser to suppress ads? How does it compare to Safari?

I’ve never watched it on Safari. On Brave YT does downscale to SD for some videos, but it fully suppresses ads which is great, as well as allows audio to continue with screen off. If I want HD, I will use the YT app and tolerate the ads. This experience is close enough to YT Lite, that I have no desire to pay Google $150 a year for Lite.
