Hi KiwiNZ, could you give me some times to define the lag you have?

A couple of other questions for the mix, are you on WiFi, and oddly enough what are all of your router DHCP settings?

There is a little lag in the UI as was in CASPA, but lag to the level of 'click - go make a coffee' 99.9% of the time came down to customers home network settings

On my Panasonic TV Quickflix navigates the menus etc almost instantly as it does on my iMac, however on the TiVo the navigation is noticeably laggy. Moving between Menu tiers is not too bad but scrolling through Movie or TV lists
is painful with lag up to 10 seconds plus especially when it changes pages.

I experience no other network lag issues and can stream HD to my TV and or xbox without issue.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I think it is pretty much the same as the caspa performance, and the interface looks very similar, apart from the colour scheme and logos.

Just got an email about traffic. Those on telecom will still have unmetered traffic for updates and EPG downloads, just not for quicklflix as per below

Changes to Unmetering

If you choose to utilise Quickflix, please note that downloads are not unmetered. We recommend reading our Guide to Downloads for more information on Quickflix downloads and your monthly bandwidth. TiVo Electronic Program Guide, games and software upgrades will remain unmetered with our ISP partner, Telecom.

I thought TiVo customers were un-metered currently? This is contrary to the letter I got from Telecom advising ALL internet usage was un-metered.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Telecom users with the Tivo flag set on their account are currently fully unmetered, due to an inability to distinguish CASPA traffic from normal browsing. With the change to Quickflix, and the removal of unmetered traffic, I'd imagine that these users will go back 'on the clock' very soon. Was good while it lasted though

They shouldn't because it isn't only caspa that was unmetered, but also updates and the epg. If they do start metering that would be a change to the contract. But the email makes it very clear that telecom customers would continue to be unmetered, just not for quickfix.

With regard to performance, I've found it a considerable improvement over CASPA. I'm running over wifi and whereas i could go and make a coffee while CASPA loaded, Quickflix is considerably quicker. Certainly quick enough that i dont depart to do something else while it loads.

Is there a facility to select your Movie On line using MyTiVo instead ??

This! Being able to push from the website rather than pull from the Tivo would be a huge plus! With the added bonus, that I could drop a movie down to it from work and have it waiting when I get home (or let the kids watch it before I get there).

Short numeric code. Put a 4 digit number next to each item on the site which I can punch into Quickflix search.

Depending on how search is implemented, you might not even need to change the CASPFlix code - just add tags to the content.

Ive successfully created a Quickflix account with free 2 month trial. and linked to my TiVo device etc

Some observations

TiVo Quickflix
UI is very sluggish as others have mentioned. - like CASPA was
Ive set a download (A touch of frost) 20 mins ago - can't see it for playback yet (I have ADSL2)
I can't download some listed TV shows e.g. Hell on Wheels.

IOS Quickflix works very well, quick UI and instant smooth streaming of TV shows.
some shows not even listed though e.g. Hell on Wheels
