Johnboy1234: All working now, I started from scratch again from the TIVO website and this time it worked. Though no sign of my 2 months free subscription in my account, just the month I paid for :-(

Get your overtired boy to call the helpline and cry uncontrollably until they give you the deal :)

Lol that's a good idea COMPOST !!

Anyone know how to change your quickflix PIN, my 5 year old is too smart for his age and has started downloading Pay to View movies and charging it to my credit card.

For the TiVo people (Dan).
One wee problem I have is sometimes the download takes ages to start. Just selected a movie, entered the pin and got the message about the download should start shortly, and you will see a blue light etc. However a hour later nothing has happened, so go and force a network connection on the TiVo, and then the movie download starts in a couple of minutes. Sometimes the download starts OK within a few minutes. Any ideas?

Just generically without digging into your specific logs and going through the debug process with you, either the TiVo is already in process of EPG/network connection or there is something in the local network/firewall that's causing the file download info from the servers not to reach your box, until you call home.

Thanks Dan

Had a look at the modem (TP-Link TD-W8960N) and can't see that any port blocking is going on (not that I'm an expert). On the TiVo Network Diagnostics page has Port Configuration test: failed.
Could it be a Telecom issue?

Bane of my existence that, it's actually a test not relative to AU or NZ that somehow got left in the UI.

Just for sanity checking, have a look at your network status page, make sure you are free and clear of the unit planning to call home for a while, and try another download.
I just want to make sure it's not competing downloads slowing you down, before we dig into anything too complicated - also could you PM me your TSN, and I'll have a peak at some other logs just to make sure it wasn't during a hiccup or something on the back end

This is what i'm experiencing at the moment.  I even have to use ethernet as i'm always having a network error (cable unplugged), where in fact wifi is working in other devices.

And one thing I noticed, I can only save one movie at a time.  Even if i've chosen to download another movie, it would not download until i delete the first movie that i downloaded previously.  Can i store only one movie at a time?  or is my tivo hard drive almost full and could only accomodate one movie?

Hi Alvin, on the former, contact the normal support channels as it's outside of my scope here, on the latter, no - you should be able to have multiple movies on the TiVo at one time.
My first guess would be a full HD, but that will only occur if ALL or nearly all your TV content is flagged keep until I delete, the TiVo is usually pretty good at removing watched/old content by itself.

I tested it last nite on a couple of TV programs. The first one took about 15 minutes before the blue LED came on but the second one took about 15 seconds. Maybe there is some for of handshake validation going on with the first time you use it.

Anyway I'm pleased to see it operates similar to the old Caspa in that you can download off line and watch it later. The idea of on demand streaming and the problems you can get with that did not make me too happy..

Looking forward for it to going HD in 2014. Well done to TiVo and Quickflix in implementing this and here's hoping for a new generation of TiVo in this region soon..

Regards,

Old3eyes

That's what I thought too, then when I selected the first Ep of an old UK series I was surprised to see tt was 720p.
