I'm likely going to need a Squash TV subscription and I already have Kayo. My video consumption costs will likely be around double to triple what they were. :(
FWIW the Spark Sport coverage has been great for me.
Very sharp picture, zero degradation in picture quality or buffering.
I'm on Vodafone VDSL in Auckland, with the stream being playing via an Apple TV 4K connected via ethernet direct to the modem.
Yeah SS going good here on..
2017 panasonic tv app
chromecast ultra
firefox browser
All Ethernet . spark fibre
But I like viewing it best on my vero 4k kodi box. Kodi just seems to play the stream the best at reported 50FPS
One thing I find really distracting is the amount of artifacting (or compression, I dunno) on the field/grass as the camera pans left/right. It detracts from an otherwise great stream
Possibly not much spark can do about that??

Ive noticed that, more at some venues than others. The overall quality is very good but it's not as good as F1, so it seems to be at the camera end

I agree. I added another SVOD the other day, Amazon Prime. Sport has started the same path, I now have Sky and Spark Sport. This time next year I may also be paying ATP.com as well as Supercars.com.au for subs as well.
And if you're a "I don't like cricket, I love it" fan, I'm pretty sure that you'll need to sign on to http://www.bcci.tv/ to watch any Test-level international matches within five years.
The BCCI [Board for Control for Cricket in India] has got more money than anyone can imagine, and will be happy to pay a humongous fee to get control of the eyeballs of the cricketing masses.
The game footage has been flawless except for that one ABs game at the start (and the issues there were minimal). The ads and local content after the game still suffer freezing and glitching even now. Seems like that would be the part Spark has the most control over..

The grass has bugged me too. I tried to do a comparison between one of the games that was streamed and also broadcasted on TV, it actually looked quite similar, so perhaps the issue is at the camera end.
Yup grass and zoomed out views tend to be the worst in some games/stadiums, very hard to watch.

Haven't noticed the quoted issue on ITV

I might check that out, do they have any games on demand?

Yes, listed as RWC Episodes

Hadn't noticed anything myself. Just took a quick look at the game last night (on demand) and things looked OK to me. Can you explain a bit more what you're seeing? Or maybe/ideally find a game and time in that game on demand as an example?
I'm wondering if maybe its from a lower quality camera. Maybe a drone or a "spidercam" rather than a fixed position camera.

Thanks - just had a look. I'm only getting about 2Mbps, so the quality is not great, however....it seems as though the grass might actually look a little bit better, very difficult to tell though without having them side-by-side. There is one particular bit where it is noticeable in the NZ v Nambia game, 14 mins and 49 seconds into the match, they use the spider cam and head in towards a scrum, it's quite noticeable via Spark, possibly not as bad on ITV.
Im thinking at its not any particular camera hardware at each match as it happens at all venues .
Say if its a still, wide angle shot of the field ( camera not panning in any direction) it looks fine, no issues.
When the camera starts panning around its like the detail of the grass cant be processed fast enough and it just looks messy. Bitrate issue?
Now that I notice it, it cant be unnoticed 😕
Possibly it isnt an issue with SS but more like the stream their getting??
And yeah, F1 stream seems to playback better

I know "unnoticed" Once I see it, my brain keeps looking for it!
I saw the last few minutes of ARG vs USA and the grass was green, detailed and artifact free. In fact my first thought was this is the best so far, quality wise. Daytime game might be part of that?
I also wonder if TV motion settings matter. We all have new or not so new, top model or not top model, and motion enhancement can vary from user to user?
