Hi folks been looking for a new mattress as i need something firm given i have had back issues in the past. I purchased one from Harveys which didn't help a few years ago which I believe was a sleepmaker and then a sleepyhead from Beds r us after explaining him what I needed. To be honest it is having the same issues where it starts sagging and my couch is way more comfortable to sleep.  A quick google search revealed a lot of people are having those issues.

Research on internet has also brought up some brands like ecosa to light and they seem to offer a 100 nights trial.

Has anyone used them and what was the experience or any other place or suggestions might be helpful?

Thanks heaps in advance

Sid

The new style of mattress made from slabs of memory foam and gel are amazing and super supportive. I think is a big improvement over inner sprung, but some people can't stand them.

Go see what you think of a firm memory foam mattress. Some places might even have a demo you can borrow.

Is it possible for you to get to Nelson?

SWMBO and I prefer a very firm mattress and have been delighted with those we've got from Nelson Beds: so much so, that after comparing prices and looking at shipping costs and hassles, we bought the mattress for our Auckland house from them.  They've got a website, so it may not even be necessary to visit in the flesh.

We're not shareholders or relative - just satisfied customers.

We brought an Ecosa earlier this year - as our (fairly pricey) mattress sagged after only 6 years or so - with resultant sore back.

We have had the Ecosa for 5 months or so now and we are very happy with it. No sag - no back pain - happy days.

Would definitely recommend a trial - after all you have nothing to lose with the return guarantee...

PS: It may be a little firm for some people - but you can vary firmness by altering foam order - but I haven't tried this as yet. And there is also an additional comfort topper that can be purchased if so desired.

We have one of those.

It's super comfortable - but also super hot regardless of so-called cooling gel.  There were gel toppers, making huge claims about how cooling they were, reviews I could find on line were less enthusiastic.  Problem solved by putting a down topper over the mattress - which cost about $700 IIRC, and in summer, Tencel sheets which also cost a fortune.  Absolute luxury.
Now I can't sleep for worrying about all the money we spent on a bed and bedding.
