turnin: Have to disagree. (Snake oil comment john r) Well researched benefits.
Taking fish oil meant I could stop taking nsaids which is a big deal.
Eating fish in large quantities does come with some problems such as heavy metal ingestion, hence brands matter if you can tell the difference. Auckland uni did do some research but sadly they refused to name the offending brands.

I take metagenics from health world Ltd, 741 nudgee rd northgate , Queensland. Which is tested for Mercury levels.

yep, thats why im asking. the mrs has to take nsaids which are causing reflux. turmeric is also supposed to be an anti inflammatory. along clearly with a no alcohol, coffee, fried food, gluten diet.

we have considered flaxseed oil as well, but not sure if fishoil is better or not.

I take both, but note the conversion of plant based omega3 is very poor compared to animal forms

yeah i looked into flax last night but the required about is insane, but the bonus side you cant take to much of it as its the body that converts the ala to omegas, at least i think i got that right?

ill just stick with one of the good brands mentioned so far for her.

If the joint issues are Gout related then fish oil is something you should avoid as it is high in purines.

that stuff looks great. she has to take vitamin D which I presume D3 is as well, could cut down on one more pill.

I just realised i take ALA every day in https://www.ceres.co.nz/products/ceres-organics/functional-foods/grocery/organic-lsap-lsa-pumpkin-seed/

It say 3000mg of omega 3 per serve but I dont believe that, if ALA converts to Omega 3, how much of 3000mg ALA is Omega 3 equivalent?

"Less than 5% of ALA gets converted to EPA, and less than 0.5% (one-half of one percent) of ALA is converted to DHA."
