I report incidents but unfortunately the offenders only get ticketed. They should be towed away.

Disabled spots should have trebuchets mounted at the front. If you don't swipe your disability card when you park, it should yeet your car into another suburb.

I'd watch that youtube video

Pushing my wife around the supermarket while dragging a trolley behind me over the last few months has been quite illuminating. I can sympathise with many of the comments made in this thread. One thing in particular we have noticed is how many people will step backwards with no idea of who or what is behind them. Someone has nearly landed in her lap on several occasions!

On a positive note, several times some kind person has left their own trolley to help us navigate through the checkout. One person even pushed our trolley right out of the store to our car for me.

@colinuu some supermarkets (Countdown by my experience) have wheelchair adapted trolleys that a person in the chair can use. In essence you would be a road train, you push your wife and in turn her chair pushes the trolly. I have used it and it works ok. My preference if I have to do shopping when my wife is away I use Countdowns delivery service.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Thanks Mike. Our supermarket has two such trolleys, one small size, one large. The large one doesn't link up to the chair properly, the small one works but is not big enough for a weekly shop. I have actually become quite proficient at hooking the base of my hand over the front of the trolley while my fingers hold the wheelchair handle. Happily the height of the handle matches the trolley quite well. The tricky bit is keeping my feet out of the way of the trolley wheels!
