I just got the flu on christmas day in the US, $250 to see a GP and $60 for antibiotics, this is what travel insurance is for…..
Was that US dollars?
I paid nothing for the urgent medical center but $A78 for the meds.
Hope you are well now.
Went to Medicare Urgent Care in Melbourne yesterday due to food poisoning.
It was free. They didn't even care who I was or check my ID. They asked if it was my first time there and I said yes.
The only thing I paid was for the prescription.

Never been so glad to be home. Flew out this morning. We won’t discuss the Welly landing and weather. Promptly twisted my neck getting in the taxi and ears totally blocked. SC doctor spoke to me yesterday and I said I just want to go home. So wheelchair and luggage help ordered, Air NZ were wonderful both in Brisbane and Wellington. Would have been impossible to walk airport distance and lines in this state so really appreciate their service.
Just want my own pillows, familiar surroundings and peace. It made me realise how vulnerable you are when away in a place that you don’t know anyone and SHTF.
I'm sure you are very relieved to be home.
Now you can start recovering properly.
